Reducing Unemployment

My bad, 10% of original investment a night. 20 Bucks a night, on busy nights. Some are more like $5 a night, which still comes out to 780% ROI in a year.[/quote]

I’m not averaging a buck a night on any machine I have let alone $5. My goal per triple head candy machine is to make $5 a week. I would be ecstatic if I had any machine that averaged $5 a night, let alone $20.

The key to vending is really to have a lot of locations. Each time you add a location, it is like getting a raise. (With a little more work.) And generally vendors have around 30% of their locations under-performing, and needing to be relocated.

The industry average is about $7 a head a month, gross. There is also the cost of candy, and there is often commission given to the company allowing the machine in, as well as sales tax.

You ever try bars?

Have one that did $12.25 in 2 weeks. Although that is only 2 weeks, I did hope for more with a popular local radio show broadcasting there one weekend. Now I did have a location that was doing about $60 a month. Unfortunately I was kicked out.

Yes I do know there are places that can average $5 a night, but they are few and far between. Just did a perusal of the vending forum I belong to, and while there are some locations that were in the $40 to $50 range, it was rare to see a candy machine go above that.

The best average for a group of machines I saw was $34 a month, but this was for a partial route, and the person had another part of the route averaging $28. Figuring everything together, (including a third route,) he did just over $30.50 average per machine. (He didn’t break down the numbers per machine, so i don’t know if he had any stellar performers in that group.)

Now there are people getting into toys, stickers, and “bouncy balls”. They tend to do better, although if a product bombs, your stuck with bags of that product. Candy sales tend to be relatively static, with some seasonal fluctuation. The single best number I saw was for a 9 head rack, mostly toys. But he mentioned that it cost him $190 to fill it. He did make it back with a profit in the month.

If there’s something you know that I don’t, please tell me. I just don’t know anyone making the kind of money you are talking about consistently. If anyone is, it is one machine out of 200. We call any machine breaking $50 a month a Gravy location.

Starts with an F and rhymes with fuckers.

I’m not trying to piss on your parade here, just trying to give some real world numbers. Too many people hear these numbers, jump in, get frustrated, and quit.

No, cerially.

Are you saying your hitting $5 a day with just candy at the Fud?

I hold very skeptical any claims people make about ROI on anything – except cocaine, marijuana, heroine, etc.

A competitive market hates excessive profits.
