September 14, 2023 - T level 447 (blood taken mid-day)
Started TRT with weekly injection of 1ml - 200 mg test (25 mg propionate, 175 mg cypionate)
November 7, 2023 - T level 2128 (blood taken fasted in the morning)
I have no symptoms of high test (mood is stable, no acne, hair growth etc). I have seen increase in strength and muscle mass but nothing insane in these last 6 weeks. I was making good gains before even starting the test.
PCP wants those levels down and they do seem extraordinarily high.
I imagine there was some difference given the time of day the blood was drawn. Iād like to keep the test level between 1000 and 1500. Anyone ever had a similar result and what they did to bring it downs. Should I reduce the dosage from 1 ml to .75 ml, .5 ml, or lay off for a week or two and start at a lower dosage?
Not as much time of day but day of the week in relation to your injection as @s.gentz asked. After you inject your levels peak 24-48hr later. Your lowest day, your trough day, is the last day before your next injection. That is typically when you want to test to keep all labs consistent. Your blend does complicate things with the peaks/valleys. An all T Cyp protocol makes more sense to me.
Why pick an arbitrary number? What if you feel great at 800? I would focus more on FT anyway than TT.
Yes Iāve felt better at having in range testosterone levels than out of range. I DO typically still keep mine at the higher end of the range for FT (2/3 range on trough).
This is up to your PCP of course. I wouldnāt get funky with it, just lower your dose to according to what he says. So if you took 1ml last week just start your new protocol at .75ml/wk. After a month you will reach your new steady state. Testing before that time would be a waste.
Injection was done about 12 hours before labs were drawn. (injection at 7 pm and labs at 7 am the next day) I never even considered that. It makes perfect sense why it was so high. TRT and being dialed in to my bloodwork is kind of a new thing for me. Now I know. Thanks!!!
Yup, you will want to take labs close to your trough day, but whatever day you choose, keep them consistent. For example if you inject on Sundays, always test for bloods Friday morning. Each time so that you can compare consistently.
This will make a huge difference especially with prop in play.
My injection schedule is monday and thursday so i get bloods on thursday morning before the injection.
