Red Palm Oil

Just recently been reading Meadows opinion of using red palm oil. It is a power food for sure but has a very distasteful flavor. Does anyone have any suggestions how to use this to counter the taste.

I have tried masking it with Tabasco. You need alot of tabasco to cover up the flavor. I am trying to use this oil a few times a week but can’t get over the taste.

Since it is very heat stable I would recommend using it with rich flavors.

Try anything Mexican, ie fajitas and taco meat.

Any curry comes to mind, though I don’t make too many of these.

Basically, ethnic foods tend to contain a lot of spices which are also good for you.

You may also want to try a different brand of red palm oil or try extra virgin if you haven’t already done so.

I havn’t cooked with it. Maybe heating it up will take some of the taste away. It is just a very strong earthy flavor that stands out over other flavors.

yeah I tried using a little on my eggs and couldn’t stand it… earthy flavor is a good way of putting it.

Definitely goes well with curry. It’s not like you need to use a lot more than a tbsp at a time so

j/k j/k

just suck it up and take a gulp of it in the morning or what have you. I do the same with Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the morning since I can’t stand it on eggs.

I will start doing that. along with my morning warm lemon water and 32oz of cranberry juice, lol. god damn you Meadows, it’s almost like a chore keeping up with this stuff!

The newest Friday night sensation: The Meadows. Coming soon to a bar near you.

I put a capfull in my protein shake and it was a little easier to stomach. I only dry heaved a little. If you don’t breathe while drinking it you can get by.

all this talk of it being vile makes me want to get some to experience it myself. Any recommendations on brands? like Extra Virgin Red Palm Oil =0 I know nothing about it.

Which one and from where did you guys get yours? I see one on amazon - OKONATUR 100% Organic Extra Virgin Red Palm Oil - 16 Fl Oz - its $14 + $15 for shipping.

I bought mine on Amazon. It was in a red bottle.

I blend it in my protein shake…dilutes the taste enough for me

I have been putting some in my protein and adding extra water and ice to dilute it a little more. I just hope I get used to the flavor.
