10x10 Fat Gripz chins is serious too.
Your training is fucking monstrous lately. I am giggling reading through at the pain suffered.
YESSSSS.
@FlatsFarmer Yeah, I lucked out a bit as far as grip goes. I have long slender fingers, so I tend to be able to wrap around a bar pretty well. I actually feel pretty dainty whenever I shake hands with other strongmen, because they tend to have sausage fingers and catcherās mitt hands, haha. But I suppose I have my own advantages.
@strongmanvinny2 Much appreciated dude, especially from a fellow psychopath, haha. Good to see that your calf has been healing up well too.
Thanks man, this is really great information.
Iām definitely thinking of mine more for lift-and-carry āeventsā simulation or āsandbag-to-shoulderā work than I am pressing overhead. I was thinking of doing pick-and-carry back and forth on the driveway for a set period of time, which fits nicely with what youāve described here.
Thanks for that man. Looks like im buying a couple of CoC grippers!
Mainly for the convenience and for when im bored (plus a little extra grip work cant hurt right)
@ActivitiesGuy and @duketheslaya No problem guys. Always happy to provide some equipment reviews.
AM WORKOUT
Giant sets
Log viper and press away 190
8x5
SSB squat 225
8x10
Circus dumbbell clean and press (per arm)
4x1x115
4x1x110
Band pull aparts
5x20
Kroc rows 105
1x25
Notes: For the method to my madness, first cycle I used First Set Last for pressing, second was second set last, now Iām trying to be really stupid and do last set last. Iāll see how well it holds up. Took the weight down on the squats because Iām really trying to get in some more volume. Completely lost my touch with the CDB after a week off; need to get in more reps. Cut out the back work on the circuit so I could push it heavier on the mainwork, and went with kroc rows as a finisher. Did no straps so I could get some grip work out of it.
Weighed in a 196.2. Right shoulder blade nerve pinch is still a little touchy, but manageable.
It actually can. Start light and slow. Your hands will be FUCKED if you start out too hard with grippers too fast.

Full ROM plate front raise 7.5kg

Notes: First post deload deadlift workout. Things felt heavy, but the strength was there. Glute and shoulder blade held up. Really didnāt have anything in me for benching today, so I set conservative goals and met them. Still got a decent chest pump. Kept the assistance volume low just to get back into it.
Woke up at 196.2. Everyone in my house is sick, so I may be due soon.
For a PM workout, threw in 40 minutes of shoveling snow wearing the 45lb vest. Iām really enjoying what a simple way this is to add in some conditioning.
So, i got to know. What are your conversations like with your neighbors? Lol
Theyāre honestly pretty chill. They all know I compete, and I work with most of them, so theyāll bring it up at work. For the most part, they tend to ask me for help when itās time to move, haha.
But the vest fits under my winter coat. I look slightly fatter, but not otherwise very suspicious.
You got a cake by TN, that means itās your birthday.
Happy Birthday man ![]()
I figured. You would be a great neighbor to have. Zero chance of robbery or any real trouble due to insane Pwn pushing cars, sleds, throwing bags, going apeshit in the garage by himself LOL.
Good stuff
@mortdk Thanks man. Crazy itās been 11 years. I remember I lurked for a few years before finally being ābraveā enough to register and post. Place was very different back then, haha.
@IronOne I tend to train too early in the morning with the garage door closed for people to really observe my insanity, haha. I try to be as good a neighbor as I can though. I figure Iām an ambassador for the sport, and if Iām an a-hole, it makes all strongmen a-holes, haha.
AM WORKOUT
40 minutes shoveling snow with 45lb vest
PM workout
15 minute circuit of the following
Stone of steel over (20 bar w/50lbs loaded for a double
250+ sandbag pick up and carry
225lb powerstairs for a double
182lb keg pick up and carry
A full 5 rounds and the doubles of stone before time expired.
Notes: Did much better compared to the last time. Made it through the full 5 rounds and a double of stone of steel. Technique was much better, although I didnāt realize the camera was moving so much with every stone rep. Lost a LOT of time on that round 4 sandbag; my fingers tend to not want to grip any more at that point.
No weigh in this morning.
happy forum birthday ![]()
Give cake pls

@T3hPwnisher in regards to the CoC gripper, should i start off with the Trainer or 0.5?
Youāre alot stronger than me and i notice you use the #2 for 13 reps.
Thanks all for the forum birthday wishes.
@duketheslaya Iāve never used a .5 to be able to speak to it. I think the trainer is a good starting point. Donāt try to compared strength to grippers; closing a gripper is an entirely different animal. Allegedly, Kevin Nee couldnāt close the #2 on his first try, and he is still leagues above me in strength.
PM WORKOUT
40 minutes of snow shoveling and sledgehammering w/45lb weighted vest
Just getting slammed with snow, and now the ice has built up enough that I needed to break out the sledge. My right shoulder is just about done too; need to take a break and do some real training instead.
Woke up at 198.6.
Ice is a real bastard on the body. Iāve noticed an ax can be a nice change of pace to the hammer for chopping purposes, kind of carve out big chunks rather than obliterate everything in its path haha.
I contemplated getting an axe or hatchet, but with the little one running around and my own lack of coordination, Iāve put a hold on it for now, haha.
