Rebirth of the Juggernaut: Brute Force and Ignorance (Part 1)

Have you ever considered getting checked for mild IBS or looking at a low-FODMAP method of eating?

I’m not talking about inability to digest: I’m talking about how much food I’m eating all the goddamn time to support this training, haha. It’s honestly been one of the best things ever to keep me from going ā€œoff menuā€: when you’re full of beef, eggs, avocado, venison, chicken, veggies and nut butters, the cupcakes pass right by you as you go ā€œno more food!ā€

What kind of air fryer do you have?

A good friend (someone I’ve eaten with enough to trust to know good food from bad) was raving about all the things she can do with hers (ā€œeverything!ā€). I have one one of my kids bought us for Christmas last year, and…meh.

Wondering what I’d have to do to enjoy the thing. This one is great for making a large family’s worth of wings, but otherwise not much quicker than the regular oven.

My wife got me the Ninja 5-in-1 for my birthday

So along with air frying it does all sorts of cool stuff, and I’m just a sucker for plug in kitchen gadgets. I’ve said before that, were I a bachelor, I wouldn’t even have a real kitchen: just these toys, haha.

I responded too initially but gave up when I saw the type of responses. It is often hard to balance the willingness to share and help others find their right path and the feeling that some people are just too hard to help. I think it speaks volumes that you still help and share at all my friend.

@cyclonengineer Dude is locked in for sure. I tried extending the olive branch and moving on and it wasn’t happening. Makes it a bit easier to know it wasn’t something on my end.

@simo74 Summed up excellently. Hurts me to see such wasted potential, but it’s out of my hands.

PM WORKOUT (1500)

10 rounds of Dan John’s ā€œArmorā€ complex, with 5 reps of some sort of daily work between rounds. Didn’t time it, but it got my heart beating.

My legs are stupid sore. Would be nice to take the prowler out sometime, but it doesn’t look in the cards with company present.

Slept until 0717 and got in fasted tabata burpees over bar. Awesome start to the weekend.

Edit: Totally forgot to mention that the wife and I got our 3rd stripes in Tang Soo Do this week. We test for our new belts on 11 Dec. We are crushing this.

PM WORKOUT (1300)

2 mile 80lb weighted vest walk with dog

Then got in an hour of podcast with @ChongLordUno and Joe. Was way too awesome talking with you gents, and I’m hoping it all got captured. Looking forward to the end product.

Had to immediately get in the road, because I bought myself a new (to me) toy

In turn, I got in my daily work rapidly and included 20 GHRs. I’m excited to have them back in the rotation. Still trying to figure out my set-up on the new rig, but it’s going to be awesome.

@ChongLordUno Had way too much fun talking with you dudes. Coulda gone on for hours.

More tabata burpees over bar fasted to start off the morning after sleeping in. Ideally will get in some more conditioning on top of that. Family is leaving town today, so back to the schedule after that.

Same here brother. It was mindblowing for me and Joe. I can’t wait to unleash the podcast on here man

You must have lit a fire up Joe’s ass because he went straight out and repped 500 navy seals right after we finished

@ChongLordUno Man that’s fantastic. I saw you crushed 500 as well. I got in my 500 burpees before leaving my hotel room: between us I’m sure we’re generating enough energy to power Vegas, haha.

@dagill2 We can always come up with an excuse if we try hard enough! Haha. The only let down is this means, if I ever run Mass Made Simple, I’m gonna have to up the dose…

Yesterday was crazy, but I managed to get in a 2 mile 80lb weighted vest walk with the dog on top of those morning burpees. Now for this morning.

5xBar
5x140
5x230
5x320
5x370
5x410

Band pull aparts
1x34
2x33

Neck harness 55lbs
4 sets

Axle shrugs against bands

Buffalo Bar Squats
50x205

Reverse hyper
40x50lbs

20 standing ab wheels
50 dips
25 pushdowns
20 GHRs

SECOND BREAKFAST (protein shake AND Christmas Crunch, 'tis the season)

CONDITIONING

62 barbell thrusters w/115lbs in 10 minutes

Notes: Here’s how the workout broken down. Started off with giant sets of Squats-chin-press. Did that until I ran out of chins, then it was squat-pull apart-press until I ran out of squats (minus the widowmaker: saved that for the end), then press and neck harness. Once that was down, I did my shrugs in one big set, took a 2 minute rest and hit that widowmaker. After that, finished up the daily work, had some post workout nutrition, and came back for conditioning. My elbows were aching, so I stayed away from doing a lot of cleans and went with the thrusters. Idea was 75 or 10 minutes: whichever came first. It was a decent burn, especially after burying myself on those squats. If I can, I’ll get in some more vest walks today, or just a regular walk.

Really seeing some positives from my nutrition. I’ve been able to sleep in on the weekends again, aggression is up, and I’m feeling more and more ā€œmeā€ again. I think the lesson I’m learning is that beef and eggs NEED to stay in the diet, no matter what. When fat loss comes, I’ll trim away from other sources.

I think it would be instructive to show videos like that to posters who aren’t clear why they aren’t making progress. Videos like that make it very clear to me what the ā€œmissing elementā€ might be.
