Tried the pound stone curls today, because of wrist mobility issues I wasn’t able to use a straight bar. Do you think an ezcurl bar would be equally useful for these?
It’s ideally done with an axle honestly. Can’t speak to EZ bar personally.
And our own Koltuniaks, unfortunately haha.
@mr.v3lv3t Hey: without him, there never woudla been a Wampus club in the first place. We all got our roles, haha.
AM WORKOUT (0530 wake up via dog)
5 round fasted circuit of
10 chins
4 standing ab wheel
10 dips
8 bodyweight reverse hypers
50 pull aparts
25 pushdowns
Breakfast
30 GHRS
PM WORKOUT (1300)
100 six count burpees in 6:45 (25 second PR)
Notes: Trying for a day with no external loading, as I plan to lift over the weekend and should therefore have something of a break. Also part of my efforts to get some weight on my body. Got the first 50 burpees done in 2:30 without a pause, so that was cool.
Took a literal long look at myself in the mirror yesterday trying to figure out what the hell I’m doing. I saw veins in my goddamn lats. Never seen that before. Hey, that’s cool, but that’s not the goal. Really trying to Deep Water this: I’m getting enough protein, so now I need more fats. I’ve added more “thou shalts”. I’m eating my 3 whole eggs a day, my high fat meal every night, my grass fed beef at breakfast (just cooked up a batch), my butter in the morning (was bad about this during these early shifts), but I’m also eating macadamia nuts everyday and I just cut up some avocado to start including that.
Now, I have been diligently taking my Alpha Male, and I’ve heard from some folks that they also struggled to put on bodyfat while using it, so maybe there’s an x-factor at play as well there, but I also know that I’ve just been a diet queen for too damn long.
Getting further into the realm of TMI, my digestion has been nuts the past month or so. I’m passing food pretty much whole. I imagine malabsorption is contributing here as well.
Carbs? Where are they at play in all this?
Pretty much entirely eliminated. I keep waiting until I “feel flat”, but it ain’t happening. I have a feeling I’m getting enough trace carbs from greek yogurt, nuts and nut butters and sheer volume that I’m not feeling the effects. When I was losing fat, they were far more significant, and I’d have a carb up meal before squats and deads.
If you really want to put on weight (I think that’s the goal? I lose track of everyone’s goals in the logs I follow), would adding in more carbs help?
I want to increase dietary fat intake (specially saturated fats) as I dropped them so low to improve my LDL that I am experiencing negatives. I would prefer to keep my focus on dietary fat increases until that resolves. I have a LOT of room for them right now.
Did your LDL number drop significantly when you dropped your dietary fat intake?
If I may ask, how did your numbers change when you altered your diet to improve your “required” health markers?
I took my LDL from 200 to 64 with slashed saturated/trans fats while on a statin. My HDL went up a few points (already mid 80s) and triglycerides dropped 10 points or so from the 50s to the 40s IIRC.
Went to Costco today. Couldn’t find that pre cooked steak. Between this and the pound stone curls, I’m beginning to think I’ll never be like @T3hPwnisher ![]()
Where were you looking? It’s where they keep the pulled pork/chicken, sauerkraut, meatballs, etc kinda stuff, nearby the fresh meats.
I was all over that section. I tried to find the picture you posted of the label to ask somebody but, idk if you know this, but your log is basically a major interstate. So many posts a day ![]()
Picture saved! Thanks man! Always looking for easy solutions to food, as we all know food sucks.
Happy to help dude. Could always go full Jon Andersen mode and just boil tons of ground beef in one go, haha. I am about at that point.
I really want to boil a ton of chicken breast and sweet potatoes and blend them up and just chug them with my nose closed. I’m so demoralized currently by food. Trying to gain weight has been super frustrating and for every pound gained in agony, there is a work or family emergency that causes Atleast one bad day of eating and I lose 2-3 pounds. Been a vicious circle for about 1.5 months lol. Of course I often forget the easy stuff like the 1,000 calorie shakes I normally would make, and just focus on the wrong things and get all side tracked. Thankfully I’ve stocked back up on bananas, steel cut oats, whole milk, and peanut butter. If this doesn’t work I’m just gonna seek counseling and learn how to not want muscle ![]()
Wait, boil ground beef? That’s a new one and I’m not forming a quick opinion on the practice haha.
It works for unwanted weight gain so it should work for you!
We have a Magic Bullet. I can use that to blend oatmeal until a flour. Add milk, protein powder, and whatever else you want and you have a calorie dense shake that isn’t too filling.
Yea my current shake is ~12oz whole milk, bunch of peanut butter, 1/2cup of oats, whole banana and 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder. About to go make one now for a “night cap”
