Are the six count just a more methodical burpee? Like each step being a deliberate motion rather than how burpees under fatigue start to resemble a bad break dancing act?
They include a push up.
Donāt all burpees include a push-ups?
Ah I see, I always think of a burpee as a chest-to-floor movement. I just consider the āto the handsā ones half burpees.
Nope: ones with a push up are 6 counts. Ones without are a burpee.
Whatās your growth strategy re nutrition @T3hPwnisher mate?
Man, this makes me feel so much better about my previous burpee experiences then, haha. I suppose when you get your definition of an exercise from @Alpha itāll be the hardest version.
Have you tried the 500 or 1000 burpee challenged ![]()

@mr.v3lv3t I was honestly the same. Only ever knew burpees to contain push ups, only to discover it was technically a more advanced version. Good to learn the hard way, haha.
@ChongLordUno Principles are going to be Deep Water and Mountain Dog. Right now itās just a matter of eating more of what Iām already eating and bringing some more saturated fats from high quality sources back into the diet. Been cutting them out completely for too long, and the effects are showing. Have to quit being a diet martyr.
EDIT: On that note, my kid asked if I could take them to Golden Corral for dinner sometime, so the family is DEFINITELY here to support me, haha.
In your recent blog post you mentioned āThink Bigā, and a āThoughtful Pursuit of Strength Trainingā. Iāve never heard of either before, and a quick amazon search has failed me. Can you tell me the authors please?
Chad Wesley Smith for Thoughtful Pursuit, Ben Pollack for Think Big.
I wrote up reviews for them. Thoughtful pursuit is on the blog, and think big on reddit. Wonāt find them on amazon.
Thanks, Iāll have to hunt them down.
JTS for one, Elitefts for the other.
Just found them, thanks.
Lots going on in here as always. Did you get the green light to gain yet?
Long story short: no, but I donāt care. Here is the full background.
Breakfast of champions this morning before I squat: āsteak and eggsā, but prime rib and eggs
Does the kid like it more on the medium/medium well side?
They donāt eat enough of it to have an opinion.
Thanks for the link and sharing the details. Sounds like a long slow burn is a great idea and maybe you will end up in a better place⦠sorry I will re phrase that. You WILL end up in a better place. Iāll be along for the ride and watching with interest.
