Real reason she doesn't want sex

This common issue kills her mood, and she may be embarrassed to tell you about it. Luckily, she can prevent the problem with the right ingredient.

It's not always about libido. Your wife or girlfriend sometimes avoids sex because it's painful. She's experiencing burning, irritation, and deep pelvic discomfort. She feels like she needs to pee all the time, and when she does, it stings.

Don't worry, your bed buddy doesn't have a sexually transmitted disease. She just has a UTI – a urinary tract infection. Many women get UTIs two or three times per year (recurrent UTIs). Men can get them too (itchy penis syndrome), but it's not as common.

With antibiotic treatment, a UTI can still last up to 7 days. And ironically, antibiotics often disrupt gut and vaginal microbiota, triggering a yeast infection, another sex killer that can take a week to get rid of.

Worst case scenario: she begins to associate sex with getting a UTI. She's not entirely wrong. Intercourse can mechanically push bacteria toward the urethra. (Urinating after sex helps.)

With recurrent UTIs, prevention is key. The best natural preventative is cranberry extract, which is why we included it in P-Well ➔ Buy at Biotest, our sexual health supplement for men and women.

What does cranberry do?

Cranberry's effect isn't antimicrobial in the classic sense. It's prevention biology, not infection-killing biology.

Cranberry contains something called A-type proanthocyanidins (PACs). Basically, PACs inhibit adhesion of E. coli to urinary tract epithelial cells. Bacteria can't stick, so they get flushed out.

It studies, women with recurrent UTIs experienced 52% fewer infections when using a cranberry extract supplement daily.

So just drink a lot of juice?

It takes up to 16 ounces of 100% pure cranberry juice – not watered-down "cocktails" like Ocean Spray – to get enough PACs to make a difference.

Most people find pure cranberry juice very tart and not very palatable, plus it adds around 240 sugary calories to your daily intake. That's why all the studies use a concentrated extract.

Adding 2-4 ounces of pure cranberry juice to lemon-lime soda or diet ginger ale is pretty tasty, and it helps some, but it's not quite enough to reduce the incidence of recurrent UTIs. Supplementation is the answer.

Preventative P-Well

We included 500 mg of cranberry fruit extract (50:1) in our P-Well ➔ Buy at Biotest formula, along with other ingredients to support male and female sexual health.

Along with keeping the urinary tract clean, P-Well is designed to amplify nitric oxide, promote blood flow, fortify prostate and reproductive tissues, and support overall sex-hormone health.
