9th Wonder FTW…and the whole Justus For All crew. Little Brother is not necessarily “unheard of” anymore though.
Agreed. However, there’s a lot of cats out there that strictly listen to commercial BS and haven’t heard anyone from the Underground scene.
But yeah fo sho, the whole Justus League Crew and anything 9th touches is dope.

Its funny, but I had never heard of them till last year. I caught wind of them from my Muay Thai coach(who’s fro NC)…and I was hooked. I think I listened to every Justus League,9th Wonder & Little Brother album over the summer.
First heard Little Brother on a basketball mixtape a few years ago. They’re dope, but I’d like to see some real deal no names, like maybe local rappers from ya’lls neck of the woods that would otherwise go unheard. Not just that, just an example. Also, have no idea where the guy I posted with is from, but it ain’t here.

Lil Tec “Corleon”…Up Stairs Click…from the other H-town…Henderson,TX(lol). Not exactly my style, but people in East TX love him. He does mixtapes with just about every TX rapper as well. I was friends with him growing up.
As far as local music, these guys are pretty big here in Milwaukee:
(I actually first heard them when I lived in California on some late night, underground music show on the radio. So I guess they have some level of national exposure, but not much.)
Here’s another guy from Milwaukee that I’m digging:
A couple more locals:
And finally, these guys aren’t exactly hip hop, but it was always cool to see them rock their stuff. Plus, they would often play live back up instrumentation for some of the hip hoppers. It’s too bad they don’t have any samples up to listen to.
Man I could name a shit load from Michigan, check these links out. First my man Chief. Dopest white boy MC since Eminem from the D.
let me know what you think…check his myspace too
his group is called Past Due, dope shit too
Depending on how deep you guys are in the underground world, there’s OneBeLo, known nation wide but very very underrated and doesn’t get the credit he deserves. From Pontiac, Michigan.
The whole Athletic Mic League crew from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lead by my man Buff1, dope shit here too.
Keep 'em coming fellas, I like what you’ve posted so far…
keep real hip hop alive.
