Reaction on Both Sides of Injection Site

Been on TRT for about a month now. Doing 150 mg/week, with 75 mg every 3.5 days. I’m injecting subQ on alternating sides of my abdominal area ( basically on either side of my belly button).

As of a few days ago, I started having a reaction at my injection sites. Both sides. Now, I’ll preface this by saying that I wasn’t given enough needles by my Dr to inject twice a week. He wanted me to do 150 mg once a week. So I had a couple instances where I had to re-use my needles. (Yes, I know it’s stupid and a cardinal sin. I’m fully aware I should never do it.)

I’ve since gone to a local pharmacy and explained the situation and showed them my my prescription, and they gave me more needles so I wouldn’t have to re-use. I had to inject today, so I went IM into a quad.

The pharmacist said my reaction is almost certainly from re-using my needles. My question is: Why would the reaction show up on both sides at the same time? I’m also very thorough when I sterilize, but maybe some of the old T got stuck in the needle?

I don’t have pain, it’s just a bit raised and red, and very itchy. Been putting hydrocortisone on it. Does this warrant getting actual treatment, or should it eventually pass?

I don’t think your body likes SQ or more to the point the ester in the fatty tissue and is reacting to it.

This makes more sense. If that’s the case, will the redness and raised skin/itchiness usually pass on its own?

Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell. My body didn’t like injections at all, my skin turned red and burned when injecting daily and EOD which are the only protocols that showed promise at least in the short term. The weekly, twice weekly didn’t work at all, even with high levels.

Now I’m on Jatenzo which is taken orally twice daily and doing very well. I also have read that Jatenzo doesn’t suppress the HPTA quite as much as injections, leaving the LH and FSH in the low normal ranges.

this is the way (not always the quad maybe). But just do IM and you won’t have to worry about skin reactions to an oil based solution

Quad injections suck so bad. The best sites in my opinion are delts and ventroglute.
