Ray Pete/Pro-metabolic Diet

I have a client requesting this, and it’s a new one for me. Apparently he never wrote a book, so I can’t go that route. Overall it looks fairly decent except for encouraging “healthy sugar consumption” “because the liver needs sugar to activate the thyroid hormones.”

"The Ray Peat diet encourages the consumption of:

Healthy fats, such as coconut oil and butter.
Dairy products, with a strong emphasis on milk, cheese and ice cream.
Lots of fresh fruit and fruit juices.
Root vegetables.
Protein from muscle and organ meats.
Collagen, a protein the body uses to keep bones, tendons and muscles strong and support skin health.
Eggs.
Shellfish."

If anyone has thoughts about it, I’d appreciate any resources.

I have no idea why he would talk about gut health and then promote simple sugars and no prebiotics. Maybe for someone with a severe digestion issue, but even then you’d feed and grow all the bad gut bugs and create a host of all new problems, physical and mental.

Anyway, here’s a summary of his ideas:
