No I didn’t! I said there is direct correlation between Japan’s life expectancy and the bullshit factor of Mercola!

Uh,yes you did.
You said japan, who probably drinks the most green tea.
If them drinking green tea wasn’t the main factor, then why did you say “japan, who probably drinks the most tea” as if it were?
If he’s a “bullshit doctor” just because he doesn’t think some of the tea out there is healthy because of the fluoride content,then maybe you need to read up on fluoride;
Furthermore, you could disagree with him in an adult manner.
How old are you?
I’m guessing 16.

Are you nuts? Two facts were stated. 1. Japan drinks copious amounts of green tea. 2. Japan has one of the highest life expectancies on the planet. There was no correlation made between the life expectancy and the tea. The obvious implication is that tea can’t be that bad for you if you can drink lots of it a live a long time.

You are attacking your own misunderstanding. Why?

And who should I read up with on fluoride? Mercola and his flunkies are the only one ranting about it.

This guy has a lot more of my respect than Mercola, who has none.

Well, obviously if you’re doing 90 different healthy things in your life, doing 1 or 2 unhealthy things, that aren’t major, really won’t effect you.

You still fail to answer my question.
Once again.
If you’re saying that there isn’t a direct correlation between them consuming green tea and their life span, then why are you bringing it up?
You are saying that since they live such a long, healthy life, their daily consumption of green tea can’t hurt them and must be good for them.

Well, they eat healthier then we do.
They exercise more then we do.
They eat a lot of sea weed and more produce than we do.

Obviously they’re gonna be healthier than us.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any flaws to their lifestyle.

Jesus christ man! You are knocking the strawmen over like bowling pins. You are claiming that I said all of these things that I never said!

As to your generalizations… Did you study & research the social differences among Japanese and Americans or something? Can you at least cite someone that has? If not then don’t waste my time with those dubious claims.

I can easily cite the only claim I made about life expectancy in Japan. If you can’t see the value of examining the claim that “green tea is bad for you” by looking at the health of a population that consumes literally tons of it then I don’t really care. But for godsakes stop putting words in my mouth!

I’m not even arguing that green tea is good for you. I am pointing out that it is worthy to note that since green tea consuming populations aren’t dying of bone cancer at an alarming rate, there is no fucking need to worry! Since Mercola seems alarmed he also seems stupid. I hope you understand what I am putting forth, I don’t think I can make it any more clear than this.

Did anyone else watch the 40 minutne video on mercola’s site about codex alimentarius?

You were pretty clear on what you said.

They are just trying to “strawman” you.

There was a rabid Mercola defender on this site that was thought to be Mercola himself.

Were you the one that added “strawman” to the hated sayings list? I saw someone didn’t like that one.

I saw that. It wasn’t me. 'nuff said.

That link from Siff claims that regular commercial milk isn’t tested… that’s not true. I’ve been on the farm several times when the cell count was too high in the bulk tank and that tank had to be dumped.

They say there’s no crying over spilt milk, but watching a few thousand pounds of milk go down the drain and into the lagoon is a sad sight indeed.

Not that I don’t think raw milk is better, I just know “regular” milk gets tested too. Personally, I haven’t had more then a few ounces of fluid milk of any kind in a couple years and wouldn’t care to start.

Raw milk is fantastic.

I’m not putting any words in your mouth.
You just need to learn to read.
When did I say green tea is unhealthy?
I’m concerned about the fluoride content of it IF you drink a lot of it.
But I never said you should avoid green tea.
Like I said before.
Just because they live longer than Americans does not mean they don’t have any flaws to their life style.
Less middle eastern people die of cancer than we do,but they’re getting diabetes by age 40 with their consumption of white bread more than once a day.
Does that mean we should be eating a bunch of white, refined sugar and flour all the time?
No.

A very interesting video I might add.

So basically two people watched the video in my post’s link. Who cares about Green Tea. There’s a bigger issue on the table. Watch the video. You’ll even hear the speaker make a comment about fluoride.

As far as Mercola goes. I can guarantee that he is more in line with T-Nation and it’s contributors on 95% of topics than any other nutritionist or any fat Dr. Weil.

So we can’t agree with everything he says. Can’t you people see the overwhelming amount of subject matter he is dead on right about! This guy is doing much more good than harm I assure you.

It would apear that Mercola is very much in favor of tea.

http://www.mercola.com/forms/tea_extract.htm

He says tea “can potentially” contain significant amounts of fluoride and aluminum. He also says that he choose to regulate his tea consumption.

This is no different than limiting our flaxseed oil consumption due to possible prostate risk. Even John Berardi would agree with that.

This is T-Nation, quit acting like little bickering children. You guys know who you are.

i tried to watch it but i just kept thinking "she’s got one huge stick up her ass.

is it worth giving it another shot ?

i could probably just listen to it.
