Ranzo Training log

Yo,

I am still alive. I know it has been a long time since I was here. Life changes have kept me very busy. Mostly with my job change. I no longer sit in front of a computer all day so it has been much harder to post. I got that under control now though.

Not a whole heck of a lot to report training wise. I have been doing some jiu jitsu privately. It seems for me now that I have to work when I used to be training and I am struggling to find good training during the day when I have time. I will get it worked out though. Been lifting weights mainly and getting slightly stronger. In this T nation break I did run “conquor the gauntlet” race. 4 mile obstacle course. I learned that if you want to get a good time jump in the first or second heat… I took of with good intentons only to find myself standing in line waiting for others to finish and obstacle before I could continue. I did it with my sister and that slowed me down as well. I really wasn’t too worried about it I did it for fun and to hang with my sis. We finished in just under 2 hours. I think I could have done 1.5 hours by myself though. However there were guys who finished in like 40mins. So im not even top 10% probably.

Sorry for leaving you guys hanging so long. I miss this forum

Good to hear you are still alive and kicking. As Robert commented about LondonBoxer, the forum is stronger with you on board. Welcome back.

I agree with idaho.

Glad to see you are ok.

Thanks guys.

One of my former instructors and good friend opened his own Krav School. I went last night and did a class. Moderate level of students of students of course after fighting in the cage and training at that level they seem like slow motion to me. I haven’t did a good level of striking in a while and it felt great to get in there and work. Doing some jiu jitsu classes again as I said before and still lifting.

I have deviated from a standard 5/3/1 format though and I seem to be getting some mass and strength but maybe im just fat because I haven’t been doing 5 5min rounds lol.

I am glad that you are still at it. I hope the new job is also a congratulations and not an “I am so sorry.”

Well I am happy to report to you guys that I have made a move in my training and joined another gym. My old school is full of great guys and some good things happen there. The problem for me was just scheduling. The new place is one of the best, if not the best, gyms around the area. Pretty much always open I can go in in the middle of the day and work jitsu and or hit the bags or whatever.

Been going there off and on during the weekends with my friends and working with them and that led to me just signing up and getting in the training I want. They offer Muay Thai and it is authentic enough, definitely something I wanted and it is a change in the way I normally fight. Already learning things and since I have been off so long the classes are pretty hard to get through. I have turned into a damn weakling!!

The jiu jitsu is on a whole other level, I don’t even want to say how many times I have gotten embarrassed in there, but also learning lots of things as well.

I think there might be a fight in the future for me. I certainly would like to do something but I will just have to see how things work out. I would need a lot more time to devote to training and It would have to be a night mostly. Anyway right now I am grateful to have some of my old training partners back and be in a place where guys want to train.

Well, I am glad you switched, dont be a stranger. I always follow your training and appreciate your experiences. Stay Safe, Train hard, Watch your 6.

Thanks,

I am still sore from training on Monday but I need to go back tonight if at all possible. Might be able to get some daytime in today or tomorrow but with the Holidays around the corner things are not for sure.
