Jewbacca - How is the recoil handling on the Tavor in snap shooting (belly-shooting) like you described? Do you find it easier to hold target at the low ready?[/quote]
I may be having American English issues, but “snap shooting” to me is coming from behind a protection and back quickly and just shooting centre-of-mass (belly shooting).
I have only shot the Tavor at a range and did not shoot from the low ready. Just shoulder in different stances. I don’t think I could hit anything from the low ready unless I was using a shotgun (which is why that is my home defense weapon).
It has very little recoil and is well-balanced. You can actually hold it like a pistol and shoot it.
That said, recoil on fully auto was pretty brutal past the typical 3 blurt.
Thanks - what I meant by snap shooting was coming up from low ready to shoulder height (maybe not even cradled into your shoulder yet) and getting a quick shot off (center mass or belly shot) without necessarily getting a full sight picture (more reflexive than aimed) - does that make sense? if the recoil is as light as you indicate, it would seem to give more flexible to the type/manner of replexive shooting you could do.
Of course, my shooting instructors always said it takes less time to get “shoulder set” than it does to fire “sloppily” - lol
I mentioned the “low ready” shot again from a reflexive firing/suppresive firing and was curious if it was possible to be “on target” with that shot (you know, like the classic “spray and pray” from the hip with an Uzi) - as you indicate nearly impossible with just about any full-size assualt rifle.
I ask, because I have not been fortunate enough to fire the Tavor although I have been impressed with reports of its performance and handling.
It has a MARS site combined with red dot laser, standard. You can see it in broad day light, so you presumably could hit something without coming to full ready just by looking for your dot.
That said, the eye-box is very large, so you should be ready easily.
I’ve actually worked with Tavor trying to get a US manufacturer. Law is that ugly guns, er, I mean assault weapons, have to be made in the USA.
Delicate balance, in that, Tavor does not want to create a competitor, so the big companies worry it. Small companies have funding and quality issues.
The sick USA economy also slowed it down, as it would be a $2000 weapon.

Didn’t you also mention the ammo is pretty expensive also? Double Whammy.

If it’s 5.56 it shouldn’t be too expensive. I don’t want to put words in Jewbacca’s mouth, but I assume he meant ‘expensive for 5.56.’
“but I assume he meant ‘expensive for 5.56.’”
Correct. No aluminum jacket Blazers.
I would really like to see this gun in the US. Good Luck!

For those unfamiliar with the weapon - here is its basic version - believe it or not, there is a compact version of this compact weapon . . .
Check out the Finnish tanks and shit.

I would like to say it’s a Colt SAA, but have no faith in that.
Pretty sweet setup though.

Nicely Done! Yes, a domestic version will be fantastic
should be fairly easy . . . lol
I would say M-1 Abrams, but I really suck at this game. Probably should bow out, but I am a glutton for punishment.

LOL - yep - South Korean XK2 - if you don’t know anything about this tank, I would recommend you look it up. It’s aweomse! This tank has an articulated suspension that allows it to squat, kneel and stand. There are videos of it on you-tube. you’ll be amazed
