Quitting Caffeine Log

Day 5.

5.40pm, really feeling the lack of caffeine from 2pm today. Quite low mood, quite low energy. Nothing terrible by any means though.

Day 6!

11.15am: feeling a bit meh, a little bit tired, a little bit grumpy.

Day 7.

9.10pm: finally feeling good again - hurray! I’ve felt very good all day actually, a lot of well being.

Still got a lot of energy, I think I’ll be unable to sleep until late, in fact.

Day 9, forgot about yesterday!

Yesterday was hard work because I slept badly the night before. I skipped training last night & got an earlier night, versus using caffeine to get to training.

Today has been great so far though! Lots of energy & work has flown by!

Day 11.

Day 10 was tough, I found out one of my friends has died. I felt quite numb & withdrawn & wanted to change how I felt, but didn’t use any caffeine or any recreational drugs. Spoke to some pals & sat with the feelings.

Today was good until about 5pm when I felt very tired after all the emotional shit yesterday. I’ve found lots of water when I feel very tired, helps a lot.

Glad to still be doing this though \m/

Day 19.

I’ll update once a week now I think. The last week has been easy, I’ve got a lot more mental & physical energy most of the time.

I’ve also noticed I feel more adrenaline during hard training & more of an endorphin sense of well being after training.

As some with Bipolar mood disorder I use Caffeine as a crutch so I can feel your pain. If you like coffee like I do I would suggest decaffeinated it has only 3 percent of the caffeine. Best of luck with your endeavors.

Thanks AL, I think decaf coffee would trigger me having caffeinated coffee again, like vaping nicotine free vapes. It was a very strong addiction.

I found it harder to give up than tobacco actually.

I found social situations a bit difficult for a while, it felt like I lost some assertiveness & how self assured I felt.

Some research has suggested addictions have a social component to them. Sorry for the bad suggestion.

I’m sorry to revive this thread again, but really? I’ve quit both as well and I found nicotine MUCH harder to quit than coffee. I had a headache for a week with coffee. I still crave nicotine on occasion, and I’ve been clean for 3 months.

OP is dead. He quit coffee… and died. True story.

I hope you’re lying.
