My concern is a health one. Fiber is the only way to reduce colestrol from what I understand. Having a high protien diet does have a slightly higher colestrol consumtion. So on days with no starches it doesn’t seem healthy to not have any fiber at all.
Other thing is shouldn’t there be a cheat day in the week not to eat junk food but higher carbs so you can trick your body into not adjusting to the lower carb intake?
Fiber Choice Tabs, they are cheap and taste like sweet-tarts. Get mixed fruit. I’m popping these while on the V-Diet and I will continue to do so when I’m off to help regulate blood sugar levels.

It’s seems you didn’t understand (or read) the article very well. You ask if there should be a higher carb day. What do you think the moderate and high starch days are? Also, it doesn’t say you can’t eat veggies and leafy greens on the low carb days does it? This is actually just a STARCH cycling diet so you will get plenty of fiber from veggies which you should always be consuming on ANY diet.

I read it very well. The High starch phase isn’t my normal non veg/fruit intake it is still lower. I’m one of those people who has to have a higher carb intake because I have hyper metabolism it would seem. However I was having a blonde moment and not thinking earlier I could just adjust that according to my needed starch intake.
As for the colestrol question from what my doctor has told me vegs/fruits don’t reduce colestrol. Whole grains, wheats and oats only do. Which I asked because I would love fruits and vegs over wheats.
Thing i’ve gathered reading these forums is the doctors don’t know much in regards to health a lot of times. For example Running > Weight Lifting or worst weighting lifting is bad for you all together. High protien diets are bad for you (they are if you don’t exercise or eat other types of food). So i’m wondering if you don’t need a daily intake of wheat, grain based fibers if you switch them with vegs/fruits.
After “I read it very well” I can’t even comprehend what your saying in the next sentence. What does high starch phase have to do with your veggie intake?
If you REQUIIRE lots of carbs for whatever reason, why do this diet?
Does your “blonde moment” refer to the “where is the high carb (cheat day)” comment? And what are you going to adjust to YOUR needed starch intake? Instead of no starch, you will do moderate starch? Instead of moderate starch you will adjust to high starch? That doesn’t follow the plan.
Do you have really bad cholesterol levels? Why are you so worried about it? Many people here on the AD have actually noticed lower levels after a time on that diet. And starches are a sin 5 days a week on that one.
I think you should do a search here for articles and threads concerning cholesterol. I feel you may be misguided about it.

My cholesterol concerns I guess are because every male in my family has had a heart attack due to high cholesterol.
My cholesterol is extremely low many times doctors double check because they don’t believe it.
As for the diet I want to get down to 7% range in BF in the future but I don’t want to lose muscle if possible. Right now it’s not my main concern but I want to plan ahead and not screw myself over like when I was a kid.
When I was 14 I first worked out gained around 20lbs but was obcessed with it and uneducated. I overworked on top of poor low carb dieting. In the end I actually ended up losing weight 40lbs maybe more. I was 5’8 ruffly 105lbs.
Now it’s years later I gained weight right but I tend to be parniod after working so much to gain weight. I don’t want to lose it like when I was a kid. I do know better now but it’s still a stupid fear I guess that I can’t forget.
Regardless of what plan you choose there are a few things, ultimately, to keep in mind for your goal.
Find your maintenence calories first.
To gain muscle with minimal fat gain, SLOWLY bump your calories up by 500 every couple weeks. When you see your gaining too much fat for your liking, back off a bit. You need excess calories to gain, but it’s slow going so overeating will just give you what you say you don’t want.
To lose fat, start around 500 less than maintenence. After a couple weeks, if you aren’t losing anything, drop a bit more. I would also intersperse a refeed day or so every 7-10 days.
As long as you have adequate protein consumption and your fat and carbs are of the good kind, you should be good. Also, no of this is any good unless you are giving it hell in the gym.
