Question of the Week
DoubleDuce wrote:

Would you want your kids making porn?
Professional “in the industry” stuff? Probably not. That said I wouldn’t want my kids in that industry period, even if they staring as the next, next Spiderman.

Homemade stuff because that is what they are into? Who am I to judge?

Ok…what is MORALLY WRONG about watching two people have sex? (let’s keep this simple, folks)
What makes war bad?
Uhm, you wrote:

The same can be said about sending your son an/or daughter to war.
Not an answer to my question, nor does it address the point of the question.

In other words, nothing rational makes war bad, you just know it is.
Uhm, they could die at war.

The issue was about you not wanting you kids to do it…would you want your kids to die in war?
And they could get an STD (and die) having sex.

Would you want your kids making porn?
He never said he wanted to ban warfare or that wars were always unjustified… he was using it to illustrate a point.

The world is a lot more complex than you’re making it.

I found that porn is “bad” for two reasons when “used” in excess.

 1. It could ultimately lead to less sex with my wife
 2. It could ultimately lead to SHORTER sex with my wife.

I agree, which is why I watch little to no TV anymore.

What does this have to do with your comment that it was BAD?

I asked you what makes it bad.

You give me some statement about not wanting your kids to do it.

So, one can only assume you think ANYTHING you don’t want your kids to do equals bad.

Please do better at this discussion if you can.

What makes it bad besides your kids doing it?
I’m assuming your avoidance means you wouldn’t want your kids doing it. Following up, why wouldn’t you want your kids doing it?

Much of the time complexity is added intentionally and unnecessarily as a means to distance one’s “beliefs” from one’s life.
super saiyan wrote:

To add to this, sometimes war is necessary. I don’t think the freedom of our nation will ever be preserved by porn and I can’t see any other justifiable NEED for it.

I would be disappointed if my child did porn. I would not be disappointed if they decided to join the military and died serving their country. I would be sad, but proud nonetheless.
You beat me to it
thehebrewhero wrote:
why do all the black dudes in porn always leave their socks on?
For traction bro.

Has anyone noticed the trend seems to be that at least once in every scene the dude has to choke the girl? Ruins it for me. Never once in my life have I thought, “Man if I just choke this bitch a little it’ll be that much better…”

No I don’t think it should be banned. But good for society in the way it’s being consumed presently? No way.
This is pretty much exactly why porn is a problem today. Not because of some moral issue surrounding the people who make porn.

A lot of troubled kids become boxers and MMA fighters. I still like watching a fight.

A lot of football and hockey players get serious head injuries over the course of their careers that really mess the, up after retirement. I still like to watch football and hockey.

A lot of young people go to Hollywood and try to make it, embracing poor lifestyles and worldviews in the process. I still like to watch TV/Movies from time to time.

A lot of pain goes into creating some of most popular pop music in our society, and a lot of exploitation occurs in it’s distribution. I don’t abandon pop music as a result.

Good luck avoiding everything that gets made in a way you don’t entirely approve of.

I’ve met very few young men that avoid women for video games + porn. They just do all three.

WTF?

It doesn’t matter if I want my kids doing it. I don’t want my kids bunjee jumping either.

That doesn’t make bunjee jumping bad.

What the hell are you talking about?

Well, there are difference between the moral issue regarding porn and things like sports, But I won’t start that debate, it’s off the topic.

But, I personal do try to practice what I believe even if I might have to give up things like TV and sports.

But why wouldn’t you want your little girl doing porn? It’s a simple question an very poignant to the topic.

Because I feel she can do better things.

That doesn’t mean I think the girl who IS doing it is doing something BAD.

Please feel free to set us straight on what makes it bad besides your kids not doing it.

Depends on which way you mean bad.

It’s a sin that creates separation between people and their creator.

In a more secular sense, it decreases aggregate joy, happiness, and pleasure in life.

You still won’t answer a simple question though.

So, it’s what she wouldn’t be doing that you don’t like.

So, you are okay with the porn part?

If she just did it on the side because she liked getting it in the ass from strange men on video for others to watch, that would be okay for your girl?

It doesn’t need to be deep, it’s true.

Because as a Christian the Bible teaches you that certain things are wrong. Lust is a sin, pre-maritial sex is a sin, therefore porn, which has both, is sinful. I respect that other people don’t believe that way, but as a Christian most of my judgment of right and wrong comes from biblical teaching.

On a side note, I also believe that there are some serious problems with the excessive consumption of porn, especially at a young age, that have nothing to do with morals. It seems that the more porn is watched, the more desensitized the individual becomes to the tamer stuff and they keep seeking more and more extreme forms of porn, which then leads to actual sexual encounters that mostly are of the vanilla variety not being as arousing. And in some instances of the right combination of individual, I think that excessive porn consumption early in life can lead to sexually deviant behaviors.
