Question for the crowd. . .

So, you know those little dishes you see sitting on the counters in stores. The ones that say something like:

Need a penny?
Pick one up
Have an extra?
Share the luck

The need a penny take a penny things.

Has anyone here ever actually taken a penny out of those?

I never have, I’ll get 4 pennies back rather than reach over and take one out of the dish . . . Just wondering if I’m the only one.

STU

I take pennies out all the time… but i put more pennies in on average…

Shit yeah I’ve taken pennies out of there. I even leave a few sometimes. If I bought something and it comes out to within 2-3 pennies and I don’t want to get 97 cents in change back, I’ll point to that and they take it. I’d rather have the dollar back.

This one pizza place that I’m gonna start working at soon always has like quarters and nickels and dimes in there all the time.

But yes, if whatever it is I’m buying costs like $5.01 and I have no change. I’ll take a penny. I hate change. One of the main things I hate about Canada.

Those were pennies???

Damn, I thought those mints tasted funny.

:open_mouth:

I just take the entire amount of pennies every time I see one. They’ll add up one day.

Just kidding. I feel bad taking them from there, but if the cashier does it, then it’s outta my hands.

I usually just take all the $20 bills out of the register.
