Question around Xanax

Recently prescribed this for flying. Any impact on estrogen levels or anything I should know about? Have had gyno surgery so don’t want any negative sides there. Taking it roughly once a month and only for flying.

No issues if you’re taking it so infrequently. I used to take Halcyon every night for sleep for years and it caused zero issues.

I take it for flying as well, never had an issue

Did you not build a tolerance from daily use? Benzodiazepines, while efficient in treating short term, severe insomnia, anxiety (on an acute to intermittent basis) and numerous other health ailments are typically recommended for short bursts of use due to the effect frequent use can have regarding tolerance to the pharmacological effects the drugs have… that and how difficult it is to stop using them once a dependence has been formed

I also took halcion for sleep I can’t speak for iron but while I found it easy to develop a tolerance to other benzos I took, I never developed a real tolerance to triazolam. I imagine it’s due to the MOA and extremely short half life and fast acting peak. I didn’t take it for a long time maybe 6 months but the 0.25 dose always worked the same. For a lot of people they start at 0.125 altho my doctor was a bit shady so I got to pick my dose and prescriptions as I pleased.

No tolerance, no dependence, nothing. Similar case with Xanax, which I took nightly for about 18 months. When it was time to stop taking either of them I just stopped taking them. I know there’s a wide range of responses to benzos, but I seem to have no issue with them. I also never get any kind of a buzz from them either. When I tried to donate blood I took 3mg of Xanax in order to relax enough to do it and the only effect it had on me was some lethargy and a ton of yawning. Otherwise my mind worked fine, drove to and from the appointment, and went to the gym later that day. I’m weird.
