Hey guys, I have a question. I’m not sure if this question is more suitable for this forum or the Over 35 forum, but I’ll ask here anyway.
Awhile ago I discovered I had some problems with high estradiol levels that were causing problems with sex drive and ED. Long story short, I have been using 1mg a week of anastrozole a week for the past 4 weeks, and recent blood work shows I’m just about exactly where I want to be, with an E2 of 26 (should even be a bit lower now, a couple small doses of anastrozole later) and a total T of 776, which was on the very high end of the normal range. I’m feeling fantastic and libido is through the roof.
So what should I do to maintain these levels, specifically in regards to the AI? I am primarily concerned with driving my E2 too low, so I have since reduced my dosage of anastrozole to half a milligram a week. I also thought about transitioning off the anastrozole and onto DIM…good idea/bad idea? I am taking no aromatizing drugs. I will be seeing an Endo soon to see if he can ascertain why my E was high in the first place.
At 4-weeks levels of AI will be stable. It is likely that 1mg a week will keep you where you need to be, there is no advantage in taking 0.5mg a week except cost
If E2=22pg/ml is your target, you would be increasing your dose to 1mg/week *26/22 = 1.18mg/week. If using a 28drop/ml 1mg/ml product, you would need 9.5 drops EOD. That can be done as 9 drops EOD, but for the EOD that falls on a weekend which would be 10 drops. Or 10 drops for EOD days during the week and 8 drops on a weekend EOD.
Dim will not get the job done and in many contexts will be more costly.
Do things right and you will not need to worry about E2 getting too low.
I’m unclear on the mechanism of action; I was under the impression that AI’s, in the context that most use them, is to counteract the action of aromatizing drugs like exogenous T. Given that I am taking no aromatizing drugs, if I stay on anastrozole indefinitely, won’t that eventually push my E2 too low?
Arimidex will stop ANY testosterone from aromatizing. Not just exogenous T. The T your body naturally produces aromatizes to estrogen and in your case needs to be controlled.
