Quality Mechanic Tools?

it is a transverse orientated motor.
so in that respect its like any fwd car

ok basicly in the states itst he eclipse, but the evo fits you just have the gear box on the other side
and you have to relocate the brake booster

the beta from a sonata which is the low end eclipse engine fits right in

well not right in you have custom monts and stuff to make but still its eaiser than using an evo engine, plus the beta and the eclipse motors fit right up to the tranny from the 1.6 already in there.

I am using a us model evo that has rolled, which is actually the eclipse engine because the jdm evos are different.

If you want quality, go with either Snap-On or Sidchrome

I’ve never even heard of Sidchrome. Seems to be an Aus only thing? From their site, they don’t seem too great. Their 3/4" torque wrench only goes up to 300ft lbs. My Snap On 1/2" goes to 250lbs.

It doesn’t even matter what brand it is if you can’t get the crap warrantied in a timely manner. I bent an arm on my Snap On 6 ton puller once. Took forever to get a new one. I ended up throwing it into my ex gf’s car and told her to stop every Snap On guy she saw while she was out and about. I was surprised when she actually produced.

As crappy as Craftsman is, you can’t beat the ease of returns. I was working on something and broke the same tool twice in the same night. Replaced them both same night. When you need a certain tool, that means a lot.

PB blaster and a persuader. A technique that I’ve always had very good luck with has been to give it a bump tighter then crank loose, and possibly a c-clamp to keep the hex in the head.
