Wilson is my pick for worst POTUS of all time, bar none. As to the expansionist point, I am of the opinion that Lincoln expanding the federal remit over the slavery issue was a profound moral good. Same vis a vis FDR dragging the US into WW2. But FDR’s record is significantly more mixed than the other 2 named Presidents. Wilson’s is profoundly shit, Lincoln’s is pretty good. (Wartime abuses of power notwithstanding)

Although T Roosevet went against my liberaterian leanings with some of his actions, l find him to be one of the most admirable of men, due to strength of character and seeming sincerity.
FDR and Lincoln pulled a lot of autocratic stunts that I disagree with. Mainly they more or less took the freedoms away from the populace, but perhaps success during their respective eras, demanded nothing less.
LBJ, Clinton, & Obama just flat out pushed societal changes that are built on shifting sand - Great Society, Financial & house lending deregulations, and PC engineering.
Wilson - l have to categorize as Satan’s own little helper in the White House. League of Nation, Federal Reserve, WW1 aftermath, Income Tax, Sedition Act 1918. He wasn’t alone in these, but his writings indicate a narsicistic and autocratic personality.
Trump - Who knows how this will progress? Armchair commentators here and in real life are calling the race, and all that happened so far, is the blast out of the starting gate.

That would be my assessment also. Mind you, my tolerance for Lincoln stopping secessionists from taking office in DC early in the war is much greater than it is for FDR’s internment camps.
Add his untrammelled support for eugenics and open racism, and you have the concise list of this misbegotten SOB’s resume.
It is anyone’s guess. I think we’ll be seeing a recession before long and the rubber will really hit the road then.
I haven’t read wsj much but fox news was probably 65% -35% pro Trump at best during the election. Their main news anchor Megyn Kelly was anti Trump the whole time.
Anything you’ve read as criticism has been sarcasm directed at Lincoln, Wilson, and Roosevelt idolaters. I only “moved onto” Obama to point out that I consider him far better than the Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt trio.
That trio, by the way, is always listed near the top of textbook presidential rankings precisely, I suspect, for expanding federal power. I agree that your average guy doesn’t like them for that reason…he likes them because he was told they were great.
In the history of the Presidency, there has never been any man more motivated by money than Trump.
I actually don’t think you believe that - like most things, you get exposed after saying something flawed, and then double down on something idiotic.
Think “Meet the Parents” when Ben Stiller’s character is trying convince Deniro that, no really, you can milk anything with nipples. That’s you here in PWI.
His annual salary prior to running was estimated at 400m/year. By not working and running for president instead he didn’t collect a lot of this. He also basically destroyed his business brand, bookings at his hotels are down all across the board.
It will easily be made up for in the long-run (maybe not his lifetime) when people, most likely tourists, will say they want to stay in “Former US President Trump’s hotel.”
I can already see a branding pivot “A True American Hero that strived to Make America Great Again,” blah blah blah.
Hotels littered with “Presidential artifacts.” It’s genius and will be done by Ivanka if anyone; she seems to be about her shit.
