Why wouldn’t your landlord let you get a pit?

Usually its because insurance agencies have created aggressive/dangerous breed lists for dogs. Any tenets with such a dog may cause the policy to be void or raise the premiums. Of course, the communist news media gives all these dogs a bad rap, while completely forgetting that police/military k-9s all fall under the status of aggressive/dangerous breeds.

Rotts and pit bulls account for 67% of all dog bite related fatalities among humans. Say what you want, but actuaries run the insurance biz and the occasional good owner/loud mouth in favor of pit bulls means exactly 1 metric shitton of dog shit to the world of statistics.

Injury Center | CDC
On average 18 people out of approximately 308,000,000 people in the US, die each year of dog attack, 11 of those are by Rottys or Pits. That is what I call an inconsequential statistic. What kind of dumb-ass do you have to be to die at the jaws of mans best friend when the other 307,999,982 manage not to?

Nowadays, any dog that attacks or bites someone is put down…
That’s a load of crap.

 1. Military and Police dogs are trained to attack and are not put down after an arrest.

 2. Nobody files police reports about being attacked by a Yorkshire Terrier no matter how vicious the little rodent is.

My original comment was meant to point out how insurance companies are over-reacting to sensationalist news media and effecting the way businesses are run. Additionally, neighborhood associations and city councils are adopting similar policies basically telling you what kind of dog you are allowed to own and how many you can have.

Uhh…yeah, I know. I wasn’t talking about working dogs.

Shit, they even put down a Lab who bit a kid. It seems like the little dogs are exempt. But what I was trying to say was that certain dog breeds that are “aggressive” or “hyperactive” get a bad reputation and are not given a second chance.

I’d go with ‘precious’…it just fits, ya’know? (poochharder…i laughed out loud. that’s just funny shit)

Romeo.

or chewie. as in chewbacca

edit* sry dude, didn’t read thor or tren.

+1 for tren

Narrowed it down to Thor or Tren. Stuck there so have been calling him Conehead for now.
Ahhh…poor little guy. I loved his floppy ears!

+1 for conehead.

If it’s between Thor and Tren, my vote goes for Tren.

Also, chalk up a vote for “tren” from Cortes. lol

I like Thor.

I vote Thor.

You can see he has a good frame (forearms). I had a red nose pit for 4 years that got hit by a car. I got his ears cropped. He seemed pissed about for some time and would fight like crazy to not enter the vet’s office when we went to get the stitches and badges removed.

I love pit bulls. They can be great dogs.

Does he still have his nuts? Probably haven’t dropped yet.
