I understand what you’re saying, and in reality, it’s all in personal preference. if Mr. A feels more comfortable with a shotgun and Mr. B likes muzzle loading black powder rifles for homedefense, why shouldn’t get he get what he wants?

Personally, I find it unnecessary to have to don two weapons for home defense when one could suffice. I feel for the most part people that suggest pump shotguns for home defense have not spent a lot of time around a large variaty of weapons.

LOL re: protecting themselves from the government…

The theory is that if you shoot an intruder with something bigger than the cops carry, your defense will be a more difficult sell to a jury.
