PS3 or Xbox360?

I’d go with the 360.

…of course you could go old school.

Dont need to i already have it :] i got super mario on it and duck hunt with that laser gun and stupid dog

I went with the 360 and haven’t looked back. There hasn’t been anything exclusive for the PS3 that’s made me really wish I had one. There have, however, been several 360 exclusives that make me glad to have it.

I also have both systems and my 360 sees more use as well. If you like RPGs, I highly recommend The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Fable is ok too.

You guys do realize that every time a half decent publisher’s contract comes up for Sony, Microsoft just buys them out.

Whatever game you liked for Sony, buy an Xbox 360 and just wait a year or so, they’ll be making the next sequel on the Xbox, if the first one was any good that is.

I own neither buy the way. Although I did buy an Xbox when it first came out while all my buddies were in love with their PS2s. Ironically they now own Xbox 360s.

i would go with the xbox. along with live, natal in the future and some of the best games on the market, you can’t beat it. prototype comes out this week sometime, xbox answer to ps3 best game i think. so get the xbox!

That really has nothing to do with the PS3/360 though. The PS2 is still selling like crazy, it was definitely the best system for it’s generation. It doesn’t reflect how PS3’s/360’s are. I really think they are both great, it’s just the PS3 came out soooo expensive that people didn’t want to pay that much.

I love my PS3, but these debates mostly come down to brand loyalty and not true performance. The PS3 is my entire entertainment system…for everything. I have no doubt that most of the people claiming they love the 360 “better” had an x-box to begin with.

It comes down to what games you like. I can’t stand first person shooter games…which seems to be the majority of what the X-box comes out with. If it isn’t free roaming, the chances of me playing it long term are low.

Prototype isn’t an X-box exclusive. It comes out for the PS3 on the same day.

More powerful GPU…[/quote]

That is just out and out wrong… the ps3 is a much more powerful system (read arcitecture)…

xbox = better online, and halo…
ps3 = cheapest blue ray player (may have changed), nice exclusive titles, will NOT be replaced as soon as the xbox… I like my ps3 because it is amazingly easy to network with other electroincs and my psp (stores movies when I go on trips)…

That said, Halo is a great online game and one I always end up going back too…

honestly, you’ll be happy with either, but the blueray pretty much determines it imho…

What game console did you have previously?

All consoles are very good. Buy them according to the games you wanna play. I have the 360 and will be on my 3rd one. They are NOT reliable consoles. They are as good as Microsoft’s windows operating system, which is pretty good until suddenly with no warning everything crashes.

Pricing is another contention i have. The ammount of hardware in the consoles is small and so cheap that if a PC came out and offered ONLY what the consoles offer it wouldn’t even make it to market. The processor is nothing stellar in terms or computer performance. Memory is a joke by comparison also. All consoles could drop about $100.00 and be more fair.

I have always had a playstation since the first one. I have also had no problem with the PS3. It is user friendly, quiet and the games I actually do play look great.

Again, I think first person shooters suck and I think that seems to be the bulk of the appeal for the X-box, online shooter games.

PS3 hands down with games like Infamous, Metal Gear Solid, God Of War, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2 (to name a few) you can’t go wrong! I’m with X on this one as well I have had PSone, PS2, and PS3. Plus free internet connection and online gaming.

God of War alone is reason enough to get one, but Infamous has now been added to my favorites.

Liar, no such thing as a console fps fan, BLASPHEMY.(tongue in cheek, I’m sure people love their console FPS’s, I just could never stand controllers for the gametype though).

XBOX 360 for Life Son!

Ratchet, the PS3 has a more powerful CPU, but the GPU in the 360 is more powerful. Look it up, buddy. And Captain Zero, way to turn this thread into a fanboy flame-fest and not give a guy advice on what system to get. I’ll run with the get both crowd. Realistically, since I have a full-time job, go to the gym (and play sports), and have friends I hang out with, I don’t have much time for video games any more. That being said, I’m happy with my 360, but want a PS3 for GoW3

I have a PS3 and it’s great. I don’t research all the particulars, admittedly, but for what I do it’s awesome.

I’m a sports game dude, and Madden, NCAA Football, Tiger Woods, and Nascar are all a blast to play. I’ve also got Rock Band and it never messes up or needs calibration or lags (although I’m not sure if that’s ever been a concern).

I watch movies more than anything though, and having blu-ray built into the same system is perfect.

Buddies of mine have the 360 though, and the games on there are great too. Gears of War 2, etc, are a lot of fun. And honestly, if I had to chose a controller for comfort and usablitly, I’d go with the 360…
