Protein Variety For Picky Eaters

I’m not sure that emotional correlates to psychological.

My issues are more psychological(from what I can tell) then anything. It’s not that I cringe at the thought of taking a pill for a headache, but it’s more that taking a pill because I’m in pain never enters my thought process.

I would almost agree with your theory if taking pills were a necessity, but they’re not. Likewise, I would wager that those who view pills and medication as a necessity are the ones with the real problem.

You already knew that though, you are just here to troll

I used to be an incredibly fussy eater when I was younger. Then suddenly when I hit around 18-19 I stopped being a little pussy and started eating different foods. I used to gag at the thought of eating something new that I wasn’t sure about, but I will eat pretty much anything put in front of me now.

I suggest you do the same and just break the psychological barrier, your life will become so much better.
This seems to be the consensus. I guess I will see how it goes.

Thanks for the replies and any of the information on protein variety/AA/Fish Oil you guys have given.

This all depends on your definition of a necessity. I for example think that supplementing with fish oil and multivitamins is a necessity for me, as I know my diet is not as varied and healthy as it should be.

I do not think I have a problem because I feel these supplemental pills will do me good. Of course, if you were only referring to medication, then you should’ve specified so, and of course anyone relying on medication obviously has a serious problem (an illness?!).

4/10 for the troll job, I could have done better… Maybe I will, one of these days

I think saying “it doesn’t enter the thought process” is a cop out. Make it. You choose what you think. We’re not talking sub-conscious thoughts here. If you have a goal- and you have food and supplements that support that goal- you use them. That should be your thought process.

I’m sorry you think it’s a cop out, but it’s simply not. When my head hurts I don’t simply say “Where’s the medicine”, I think to myself “Why does my head hurt, how can I fix it and how can I avoid it in the future.”

I understand your point about supporting your goal. That was the intent of this thread to begin with. If pill forms of amino acids and fish oils became a necessity(and I want to incorporate them into my diet) then I would be forced to use them to support my goals. Although, from the other replies this has turned out not to be the case.

I’m no Dr. Phil, but that is reason enough to not paint everyone with one swipe of the brush as some of the trollers seem to take a liking to.

Is one of your parents a chiropractor?

I also don’t take any form of pills. I know at this point I sound like a complete oddball, but this has been a product of the environment I grew up in. Only one member of my family takes medicines at all. It’s something I grew up with and emulated and am now at the point where in 22 years I have yet to take any form of medication or pills.

This obviously hinders me in taking any form of amino acid, fish oil, fat burning etc pills.

At this point both of these issues are more psychological then anything, but it’s still a hard issue for myself to break. Are there any alternatives to add variety in my eating other then forcing myself to stop being a pussy and just eat different things?

Are there any alternatives to getting proper amino acids/fish oil/anything else I would need other then forcing myself to stop being a pussy and just take the damn pills?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
There’s no law that says you have to swallow your pills. If you can’t swallow, chew. Can’t guarantee it will be pleasent, but…
