Protein shake - uk only

Hi All,
Looking for a decent protein shake with more protein then carb requirements!
I can see the US use MD by Biotest, but us over in the UK unfortunately aren’t as lucky to be able to get this over here! US users count yourselves lucky!.

Anyway, any UK based members got any good ideas for any particular product (which assists Metabolic issues) which does not have ridiculous types of sugars or Soy products in it please to avoid any impact on testosterone?! No bloating, stomach issues etc

Would be so grateful for some ideas/input please?

Thanks in advance guys! :+1:t4:!

I think the best easily available in the UK is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard ; Myprotein Impact is pretty good and good value; Grenade… there’s plenty.

If you have a Costco card you can get Premier Protein which is ultra-low sugar.

cough would be nice if Biotest made a serious attempt to get into the UK market!

Surprised you don’t have more responses. I believe there are many members from the UK on this forum.
Also surprised Biotest doesn’t deliver to you. I thought they did.

Biotest does ship to the UK. It sounds like maybe they are looking for something they can pick up locally, though.

@Polar-Bear Thumbs up
Both the products you recommend are Batch Tested which means they are free from banned substances. Important if you participate in sports in which drug testing takes place. Drug free declarations are now widespread in UK Athletics events.
To say nothing for the health of the user.

@Matthew_Weeldreyer what is the Biotest position on batch testing, when I originally looked they did not appear on any of the batch testing verification websites. Not sure if there is a geography related issue here.

Unfortunately the shipping is cost prohibitive to UK customers. Shipping costs for 2kg of protein from Biotest shipped to the UK is almost double the cost of just buying 2kg of protein in the UK.

OP - not sure about sugar or soy, most straight up whey or casein products have sweetness rather than sugar, maybe some soy but honestly the quantity used is tiny, it’s almost certainly a non-issue.

@Polar-Bear yes ive tried Optimum Nutritions - Whey Isolate which is more expensive than the standard product, has lower sugar content, but was concerned re the soy content as trying to increase testosterone not have an impact on it etc. And I think I stopped a while back as just had a batch that didn’t quite agree with me for some unknown reason. However, when reading T - Nation emails they show how their MD product is amazing and ticks all the boxes so frustrating to get these but unable to purchase the product! Haha :sob:.

Ill take a look at My Protein, pretty sure i looked at this previously but due to ingredients i always go for something else, but ill take a look again…

Yes, agreed would be nice if Biotest would ship without extortionate prices.

@alex_uk and @Matthew_Weeldreyer yes they do ship to UK through Thrive Supplements but still limited products, have to await stock at times and cant get the protein shake which literally has everything we’re looking for in a shake unlike others! :man_facepalming:t5::sob:

You seem to be placing quite a lot of stock in a protein shake, the UK may not have Biotest with affordable delivery, but it does have ample chicken, beef, pork, lamb, tuna, Greek yogurt, cheese, eggs etc.

@alex_uk no of course I know there are food sources that provide the nutrients we need but protein shakes do assist when you get sick of eating, thats all. And when you subscribe to T Nation and they explain how their products are most beneficial, it’s useful and good to know that you can order them! However, in UK thats obviously a problem, thats my point :+1:t4:
