Hi everyone, im sure you all know your stuff so thats why im comming to you guys. Im completly new to supplements as i am only 17 and finally decided its time to bulk up as i am 6" and only 130 pounds believe it or not, but i really am looking for strength then bulk. So i will just get to it now.
I am going along the lines of the scrawny to brawny book and planing on making up my own protein/carb drink. For protein i have Dymatize iso hydrolyzed whey. Creatine monohydrate by Dymatize. Glutamine by Universal nutrition and for carbs i am thinking of Nutrabio’s carbmax for Maltodextrin carbs and really the Carbs is what i am worried about.
In the description it sounds like its more for endurance than bodybuilding. Has anyone tried it and is there any other kind of fast acting carb supplement that ya’ll suggest? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well thanks but that doesn’t really help me, i am really trying to find out if the Nutrabio’s Maltodextrin carb supplement is a good choice for weight training because to me it sounds like it is geared more towards endurance sports.
Im just confused because i read how Maltodextrin is good for fast intake but everything i find it talks about how its good for endurance. Any enlightenment would be great.

It sounds like you are looking for a high tech solution to a low tech problem. You are 6 feet tall and 130 pounds. Cabanatuan POW camp survivors weren’t much lighter than you. All your agonizing over which carb supplement will give you strength versus endurance isn’t going to solve your bigger problem. On the other hand, lots of squats and milk might.
Adding maltodextrine to an inexpensive protein powder good idea, that’s what I do. (If money is not an issue, just buy Surge.)
But instead of buying an expensive maltodextrine suppliment, look for it at a home beer brewing supply store. I just bought a pound of maltodextrine at one of those shops for $3. I’m not sure what “long-chain polymetric fraction” means, much less if there’s any benefit.

The “Average Length” thread in the Sex and the Male Animal forum says 6" is about an average length. But I’ve never heard of one tipping the scales at a buck thirty. God damn.
Sorry about that Mr. Clean, i meant to say 6 feet tall. I’m just trying to find out if the Nutrabio’s carbomax is a good supplement to add to a protein shake to gain weight. If anyone else thought i was talking about my personal size my apologies
It’s just that i am confused because you need fast acting carbs but i dont know if nutrabio’s supplement is as fast as it should be because in the description it talks how its good for carb loading for endurance and i can get a 20 pound bucket of it for $2.75 a pound.
Simple carbs are simple carbs. If it digests fast than it’ll work. You could use sugar and water if you wanted to, you don’t need some over-hyped supplement for that.
