This is my first post and I’ve been doing a lot of research on TRT. I’ve read a lot of posts on this web page and I thank everyone for their input and comments. The one issue I’m concerned about is the proper syringe size for injecting in the abdominal area.
Dr. Crisler in his demonstration video (if you listen closely) claims he’s using a 26g 3/8 inch syringe for the injection. I can’t remember if Dr. Crisler mentioned it on another video? Or on another forum? But he 100% said he used 29g 1/2 inch 1ml barrel. (Trying to retrace my notes where he said this. But I will find it.)
Now, my question is… we all knew Dr. Crisler had a wonderful body and you can see the muscles in the abdomen area. He clearly stated DO NOT pinch the FAT and go directly in 90 degrees. Wasn’t Dr. Crisler hitting the abdominal muscle? So, technically it wasn’t a Subcutaneous injection? This is what I’m confused about.
Because, yes I do have some fat but my abdominal walls/muscles are very strong. I’m afraid if I do that injection it’s going to hit that muscle group. But clearly Dr. Crisler was in phenomenal shape for his age. It also seems like he hit that muscle group but he claims he didn’t.
Overview… so this is why I’m confused. Everyone wants a painless injection. There’s 2 syringe types that Dr. Crisler has mentioned. I don’t know what gauge to use… and I don’t know what length to use? 3/8 or 1/2?
27 is the best . 30 makes it hard to pull the oil into the syringe. You have to warm it or wait a while for it to fill. 27 takes seconds to fill a daily dose. 1ml maybe 30 seconds.
Just use best judgment. As long as it goes under the skin or even in muscle it’s working.
Switched to easy touch 28 gauge 1/2 inch and they are awesome! I was on 27 gauge before. The draw on 28 is not bad at all and went in so easy without pain.
Appreciate everyone’s advice. I was hoping to try and use a 29g 1/2 inch. Now, with everyone’s comments I’m questioning if it’s going to work or not? Was watching a few videos on youtube… I couldn’t believe someone was using a 31g and it worked for them. Guy claimed it took him 15-20 minutes to get the test in the syringe.
So basically… the only issue is “drawing” with a lower gauge syringe? You can basically push it out with any gauge? Correct?
I use a 31G 15/64" 1mL BD Insulin Syringe because I pin 17mg every day into belly.
I pull to 20mg and then hold the vial upside and wait about 30 seconds for syringe to fill. No, syringe does not drop down. LOL I don’t know why people who dose more than once a week use a larger one.
If time is the problem you can always use a large needle/syringe to draw, pull the plunger from the 30g and shoot it through the back and re-insert the plunger. Takes 5 secs.
Appreciate all the input guys. Everything is working fine and have been injecting in the stomach. Instead of making another thread… I’ll just add to this one…
I’ve measured my waistline before TRT and been doing this for about 2 weeks now… I’m not losing any inches around my stomach… but I’m dropping body weight. Lost 7 lbs. My diet is very lean… and cardio is always around 3-4 times a week. My workouts can be around 1 hour to an hour and 30 minutes long. I have no way of knowing if this is standard for your waistline not to lose inches??? Kind of baffled by this… because people have told me they get ripped on TRT. My muscles are defined… but honestly… 20 years of working out before TRT… I think I looked better than 2 weeks doing TRT.
What is the problem??? Any ideas??? Is injecting in the stomach causing this?
If you’ve only been on TRT for 2 weeks and are expecting noticeable differences in body composition, dial back those expectations because it’s going to take 6-12 months to see major changes. Your testosterone levels won’t be stable for another 4 weeks, by this time muscles will start becoming sore after usage/workout.
I notice any time I change T dosages, I lose strength in the gym and feel like I’m spinning my wheels. Muscle no longer get sore after a workout until I reach 6 weeks on the said protocol. You may need to make alterations to your TRT protocol to find out what works for you, rarely do men go on their first protocol and find success, tweaking will be needed.
I found weekly, twice weekly injections to be ineffective, ED and EOD protocols seem to be very effective.
Overthinking it. I pin every day with 26g 3/8” right into my abs area surrounding my belly button, zero issues. Sometimes I pin in my love handles although that stings slightly for whatever reason. I’m about as lean as Crissler is in that video. I don’t pinch any fat, just stick it
Man I’m 9 weeks in and have gained 9 pounds since starting without changing a single thing with my diet and workout regimen. And I was holding a steady weight for 4 months before starting TRT. I suspect mine is water retention…
This process takes time as @systemlord mentioned. Libido improvements come quick but body recomp takes awhile from all I’ve read. My workouts are progressing nicely, getting more weight or more reps with last weeks weight every single week for 8 weeks no so I know the gains are coming.
Thanks for the post. That’s why I’m sort of alarmed by dropping 7 lbs and the waist isn’t dropping. It’s exactly the same. It’s not uncommon for me to drop an 1/8 of an inch per every workout. A lot of message boards indicate if you are losing weight and not dropping inches around your waist… something is wrong.
