Proof Gay Marriage is Wrong

However, you made the accusation that the Bible is all fairy tales and nothing could be further from the truth.

I also think that by seeing the Bible as correct also buoys my point regarding homosexuality as being sin according to the Christian Bible.
I did not say it’s ALL fairy tales.
And of course there is interesting historical references in it. That doesn’t mean, on the other hand, that these aren’t highly subjective and weren’t mainly used as propaganda material.

That’s why I described it as a MYTH, which isnt’t necessarily a bad thing. However, it is not a historical fact.
Let me show you what I mean:
Most nations have had very simliar ancient lore regarding giant, floods, apocalypses, sometimes even a “golden past”, which the bible describes as the exile from Eden.

Does that mean that on some point in earth’s past, giants, dragons and gods walked underneath our sky?
For God’s sake, (Did I really said that?)
NO.

But it leads to interesting insights to human cultural develpment.
The Flood: it is a MYTH, meaning that of course, there was some kind of spate, but surly, it wasn’t like:
“until it covered even the highest mountains by fifteen foot” (it’s not an exact quote, you can correct me here if you want to)

The Ark: This is crap. You will have a hard time defending the claim of the bible, Noah fed the beasts some hundred (correct?) days. By the way, cleaning all that shit up was also one funny job.

Salomon: This is pure propaganda. His reign , his temple, his own nation is all lies. Israel was in need of a glorious past and so they made it all up. That’s nothing new, almost every nation has been tinkering with it’s past, making it more glorious, shiny and powerful.

Genesis 7:20:

“The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than 20 feet.”

And if you want to think that the following has no credence you are certainly free to do that as well:

"Two senior scientists from Columbia University have proposed a theory that a massive transfer of water occurred about 5600 BCE - over seven and a half millennia ago. They wrote: “Ten cubic miles of water poured through each day, two hundred times what flows over Niagara Falls.”

“The Bosporus flume roared and surged at full spate for at least three hundred days.” 60,000 square miles of land were inundated. 1 The Black Sea shoreline significantly expanded to the north and east. The lake’s its water level was raised many hundreds of feet. It changed from a fresh-water landlocked lake into a salt water lake connected to the world’s oceans.

They have drawn on the findings of experts in agriculture, archaeology, genetics, geology, language, development of textiles and pottery, etc. They postulate that this deluge had catastrophic effects on the people living on the shore of the Black Sea. It triggered mass migrations across Europe and into the Near East, Middle East and Egypt.

It may have been the source of many flood stories in the area. Some researchers believe that the story of Noah’s flood in the Biblical book of Genesis is a myth that had its origin in this cataclysmic event.

A book by William Ryan and Walter Pitman describes one of the most fascinating scientific puzzles of recent years. We found it far more riveting than any detective novel."

Genesis 7:24:

“The waters flooded the earth for 150 days.”

Not so funny for the people who had to clean it up and throw it overboard. Oh my I bet the politically correct wouldn’t like the waters being polluted.

Really, then how do you account for this from the San Francisco Chronicle, hardly a bastion of conservative Christianity:

"Deep in the ruins of a Hebrew town sacked nearly 3,000 years ago by an Egyptian Pharaoh, scientists say they have discovered new evidence for the real-life existence of the Bible’s legendary kingdoms of David and Solomon.

The evidence refutes recent claims by other researchers who insist that the biblical monarchs were merely mythic characters, created by scholars and scribes of antiquity who made up the tales long after the events to buttress their own morality lessons."

It might be time for you to take another look at what the Bible has to offer!

No you don’t. You may know many things, but not that.
I don’t think headhunter was saying that he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt. I think he is saying that given the information at hand, it is probable that someone with such a distorted view of God is hellbound.

OK ZEB, you’ve made your point.

As I already said, if you are truly interested in a debate, you’re welcome to open a new thread.
