Please be more specific on where Ted Cruz is moving this country toward a totalitarian theocracy…I’ll wait on specific examples. I’m sure you’ll immediately provide them…
Jasmincar:
Who is “The Snake Man”? (I just hadn’t heard that term applied to the current candidates).
No idea what you’re talking about. I never said that. I said Cruz is uncompromising. It’s a bit of a stretch to go from uncompromising to totalitarian theocracy…
He has said is is the “one true conservative running” out of a field of republicans. Do you disagree with him? I’m speaking from what I have seen him do in Texas and what I have heard other senators say about him.
I’m not trying to argue the issues, I know where Cruz stands. A quick google search shows that he was rated as the second most conservative senator. If you agree with Cruz you probably like that he never compromises, but to ignore the fact that most of the country does not 100% agree with Cruz is how you lose a general election.
Do you honestly believe he can win over moderates and independents? He might try to do that going forward, but he previously has been a champion of the far right.
My point is that people disagree with Cruz, so they will not vote for him based on that view. Some might overlook his approach to that view, but others will be scared off by it.
As with any candidate, if they don’t align 100% with their views you weigh the pros and cons. I understand you and Cruz are on your moral high ground. Others see it differently and will vote accordingly.
Strongly disagree, and the examples I provided prove otherwise. If you don’t view him as fringe, you need to talk to more people who aren’t on the fringe.
You’re taking the scared comment out of context, or maybe it was bad word choice on my part. He will scare off voters. I’m not “afraid” of Cruz, but his right-wing stances do not help convince moderates to vote for him. It has nothing to do with sacking up.
I understand you love Cruz. Good for you, but I’m talking about how others see him. You can choose to ignore what everybody else says but talking about opposing views is not whining.
You and sloth went back and forth many times. He asked a direct question, you dodged. Haha didn’t have time. Good one.
lol this conversation is exactly my point. No compromise. Keep on hammering as if that brings anyone to your side.
Good grief man, chill out. I said bad word choice. He will scare off voters. They won’t vote for him because of his positions.
GOP is far from invincible with the electoral map and the way demographics are moving. Every year its a tougher battle for them as the percentage of minority voters goes up.
I do believe Romney is more electable than Cruz and would crush Hillary Clinton. That doesn’t matter unless some wacky stuff happens at the convention. If its Cruz vs. Hillary we’ll find out how electable Cruz really is.
Obama was 10x the candidate Hillary is. He got black voters to turn out and is a very talented campaigner/speaker.
