Praying for Pookie

vroom with all due respect it seems that YOU are the one who is playing the role of “PC police” with the comment above.

The politically correct are always the first people to attempt to silence religion in public places.

Zeb,

This particular conversation has been had too many times.

Whenever a right wing person tries to complain about something, they claim that while you have the right to say what you want, they have the right to voice their opinion of it.

Either I have that right as well, or you are bunch of lying hypocrites.

Now, personally, I find it annoying as fuck to have a bunch of non-thinking robots quoting scriptures and offering prayers and pushing God at “me” all of the time. It has nothing to do with being PC.

Won’t it be great when the forums are reduced to those of varying religions arguing the merits of there religions? The Islamic can quote the Koran to you, you can tell them they are going to hell in a handbasket, then the Buddhists can tell everyone to chill out, while the Catholics can explain how their particular theology is best.

Yeah, those will be rockin’ times!

There are many places filled with people who would be more than happy to celebrate your religion with you. This is possibly not one of those places.

I have the right to talk about my faith, and you have the right to say you don’t agree.

Someone else has the right to talk about homosexuality, and I have the right to say that I don’t agree.

It’s America, a wonderful place to be!
Headhunter wrote:

Why did you read and respond to the thread?
I find that most Atheists respond to Christian threads because they enjoy bashing Christians.

It’s sort of a sport to them.

They want us to shut up. And when we don’t they give us “what for.”

We get to talk about Christ, and they get to bash us for talking about Christ.

It sort of makes for a fun time for all

He would throw it up into the air, the wind would catch it, spin it around for a few seconds, then it would come crashing back down. He tried this over and over again.

All the while his wife was watching from her kitchen window. Muttering to herself how men need guidance in everything, she opened the window and yelled, “You need more tail!!” The man turned to her and said, “Well, make up your mind. Last night you told me to go fly a kite.”
Pookie,
Hope you get to do stand-up in Heaven!

Vroom, you’ve responded several times to a Christian thread. You CAN ignore it you know (unless this is some way of God coming into your life).
Actually, i did too.

So i am jealous.

Also, stop trying to cover this one up as a serious issue. Its a piss take and it is clear. Otherwise you could have PM’d all your cronies and had a mutter in your own homes.

It may have been funny, if that was your intent, but this is worse than my one for Zeb.

But i thought he was going to hell, wrt the jaws of satan thread?

Probably because they didn’t want religious conversations infecting the rest of the site and driving away customers.

Nothing drives away the middle of the road customer faster than fervent believers preaching at them…

Headhunter,

Basically, what you are saying is that I should just leave the politics forum at this point.

However, if you had your way, this thread would be busy infecting the Get a Life forum with your beliefs.

Then I’d have to ignore that forum too. I’m sure you’d then be happy to talk Jesus on the author’s articles and basically preach all over, since you feel it’s always appropriate to preach and pray.

Great, pretty soon I’ll have to ignore the entire site!

Oh, I see, is that your goal, to turn T-Nation into an evangelical site? I suspect you are damaging the business here, whether you like to believe it or not.

Using T-Nation’s resources to spread your beliefs, at the cost of their business, is quite simply trespassing. There is a commandment you are ignoring to do that.

This is only one mans opinion, but I continue to shake my head at the behavior of so-called Christians around here.

The reason why these religious threads keep popping up on T-Nation is that the structure of the forums themselves lends itself to it and because the moderators allow it.

On many other site, you have one of two situation:

 1. The site is moderated and religious threads/discussions are “off-topic” and never make it to the forums.

 2. The site is unmoderated (USENET “alt.” newsgroups, for instance) where all discussions eventually degenerate into flame fests.

Here, we have the “Off-topic” forum where basically anything goes. I guess the mods would draw the line at hate speech/neo-nazis type stuff, but otherwise, as long as you keep it civil, pretty much everything(*) gets by.

So these religious threads will keep popping up as long as they’re tolerated by T-Nation. I’m sure the day that the word comes down to the mods to flush any religious/anti-religious rants, they’ll go away.

Instead of complaining about it, we might be better off thanking T-Nation for giving a place where we can discuss pretty much anything and have moderators to make sure everyone keeps it relatively civilized.

Gotta go. I’m late for my BuyBull study class.

How’d you get that, from what I wrote? If a topic is of little or no interest to me, I ignore it. Are you ‘Big Brother’, protecting all the Innocents from my evil praying? If you see the word ‘Christian’, do you do a ‘Pavlov’s dog’ and start salivating, happy at the chance to protect T-Nation from us evildoers?

I am perfectly happy to debate with you or anyone (unless it turns to name-calling). But notice how you began accusing me of theft. That’s why I had to trick you on your 4 Principles thread. Libs simply cannot argue without violating the very principles they espouse. Conservatives have to obey the ‘rules’ but libs can slander and lie with impunity. Since most libs are also atheists, they have no moral principles to guide themselves. They then become like little children, screaming, “I hate you!”, or some other such childish nonsense. That’s why Dean had his scream-fit. He’s a lib-child.

And that’s why you came on this thread.

HH

Finally! Something worth praying for…

You’re going to go into ranching?

People who hate the idea of God are about as stupid as those who claim to believe in God…and then show this by either trying to force their beliefs on others or bringing up the subject to the point of nausia thus eliminating any possible good that could come from the discussion of religion.

Hmmm…so you wonderful atheist liberals believe in censorship? I hope T-Nation and its mods are above that sort of thing.

Interesting couple of posts.

Headhunter,

Nice, you’ve gone down a whole new path here with this tripe. There are plenty of Liberals who are Christians and plenty of Conservatives that aren’t, which has nothing to do with any of this. Neither does whether or not one is a Christian have much of anything to do with having morals.

However, in your own terms, it is when people claim to follow something (which I did not do in my four principles thread) that other’s then measure their behavior based on it.

Anyway, I used the word trespass, which is not exactly the same as theft. What makes you think you are being a thief, since that is the word you substituted? Also, I think I tired to elucidate why I felt that was the case, did this hurt your feelings or something?

If I think it to be true, and you don’t, that doesn’t make it either slanderous or untruthful. You’d better watch it, you are the one playing word games around here.

If you are so convinced, explain to me why I’m wrong when I consider coopting the message boards for the purpose of spreading religion, when I believe it hurts business, is trespassing? Why is it not?

How come when I want to discuss an issue that deals with what I see as your own misbehavior you get upset and defensive? Why are you casting stones at me and at liberals all of a sudden? Why not discuss the issue at hand and show my why I am mistaken in my interpretation?

Did you get a feeling of cognitive dissonance and feel the need to strike out in anger? Is that the little child syndrome you were describing to us?

You are doing a lot of dumping people into groups today.

You aren’t silly enough to think I’m an atheist are you?

If you act like one,and side with atheists, can I call you one too?

Abject bordom and a desire to write argumentative things in order to see what people have to say in response.

Why do you read and respond to post?

You have a short memory. You accuse me of using ‘T-Nation resouces’ here, guy. You called it trespassing, which is incorrect. You were trying to say theft.

Please think before speaking.
