I like this as a picture by itself. But I like it even more because Fedor won by tapout just 2 or 3 minutes after this slam.

My favorite illustration, from the book “Muscle Moulding”, written in 1950.

My Favorite. Heinz Zak solo on seperate reality. I’m not a big rock climber, but I can’t imagine the upper body strength that it would take to have the confidence to try that.

Holy Shit! is all I can say to that one
I’m not so sure it’s confidence, I’d aim closer to 1/2 confidence, 1/2 insanity
The New 2007 McLaren F1 car.
Interesting how the aerodynamicists have these cars looking more and more “organic” with each passing year.

Not sure what you mean by “organic” but the air flow lines of the car are pretty sweet.
Which makes me wonder why they can’t turn “concept” cars into real productions cars. And why they can’t take racing values and apply them to sports cars. Most cars today all look the same, except when you get super high end.

Maybe organic is not the right word, but each year, the various surfaces get more and more curvy and twisting to the point that there’s almost no right line or right angle to be found on the various surfaces.[/quote]

Probably because of cost? Those F1s cost millions to engineer and operate. If I recall correctly, Ferrari and McLaren’s yearly budgets are close to the half billion US dollar mark. There is probably some trickle down from the experience acquired building these beasts, but it’s probably much tamer by the time it hits the street.
And many concept cars look good because they aren’t sporting bumpers, gas tanks, sometimes even engines… fitting those back in and meeting all the various regulations takes a toll on the most outlandish designs.
I like F1 because it’s a constant struggle between the FIA’s rules to slow down the cars, especially in cornering, and some of the planet’s best engineers trying to overcome those ever changing rules.
The boring part is that since about the last 10 years, the pilot is making less and less of a difference, and the quality of the car more and more. Most of the flamboyant, interesting drivers are also gone, replaced by mostly complacent corporate drones.

My favorite player. No doubt a high “T” man. We missed him this season.
