Ok, guys. Don’t flame me, but sometimes the images are a little…well, adult oriented. I read this forum at work and at home. If you want to put up a woman, can’t it be someone who actaully looks like they workout? I’m trying to get my wife into this site
I thought F-Heit was the Biotest site for women, not T-Nation:

Here you go. How in the world can you not find this inspiring. That is simply wonderful.
uh…gotta go, the wife just came home.
Actually that photo didn’t do much for me.
O.K., thanks for letting us in on that bit of info.
Every time you see a picture of a good looking woman on this site be sure and let us know you don’t like it.

My comments were merely the mirror response of your initial post. As you posted expressing a positive reaction to the photo, I posted expressing a negative reaction. If you read my previous posts you can see how the distinction fits into my theory.
Maybe the powerful images should be toggled off as default. I like the powerful images but I don’t always like the idea of someone looking over my shoulder while I’m reading an article and having a pic of some she male or guy in tights on my screen…

Yes, I realize I can turn it off. That’s not the point. This is a bidybuilding/strength/fitness website. Why not use pictures that exemplify this? Using soft-porn is gratuitous and cheapens the intent of the site.
I guess the guys who come here and never visit the lifting forums like the pics. It’s not a big deal, just an idea.
If I tell a friend about T-Nation and they visit, they might get the wrong impression (especially with the girl in the blue plastic outfit bending over).
I get what you are saying. While some T&A is nice, especially given the name of the site, it can be a bit much at times. Sometimes I’ve found that sexy women in the gym are tbe best form of motivation.
We all know that the mental game is just as vital as the physical. From BUD/S to old USSR training books we are told how to use the mind and body as one. For some reason this works best for me on the BP, DL and bi curl (not in the fucking squat rack). I think of that hot chick back in highschool, before I found weights. Of how she gave me blueballs then gave the QB a hummer. After a few minutes of silent meditation that 300 pounds goes right up! Or on the DL. I just imagine pulling her off the QB’s dick as I pull a PR from the floor. It feels awesome.
When I got in serious shape I (please forgive me fellas but I had a minor Professor Klump experience) bought a spandex shirt and hit the bars. When chicks were giving me double-takes I have to admit I felt like Elvis and looked like Zane. I never had such focus on the iron like that. To learn how to filter out the view of the g-strings, the heaving breasts moist with sweat is a task. It’s tunnel vision. The babes are there. The iron is there. Sorry honey, the iron is my date today.
Nothing else has been able to motivate me more to lift then images of chick in spandex “stretching” to get my attention now that I look good. “She didn’t like me for me then, fuck her. I have iron to lift.”
For that hour nothing else exists. No cell phones, no spandex sluts, no bullshit! Thus endeth the rant.
I’d love nothing better than to run more powerlifting/O-lifting pics, but when I crop them to fit the space I’m alloted, the pics look real small.
This one, for instance, would show up about 1 by 1 3/4 inches. If I cropped it to make it more vertical, you couldn’t even tell she had a weight over her head.
How about a thumbnail/extreme close up? I see them in Scientific American and Analytical Chemistry on occasion. Just take an image like what gojira posted, and just show a corner of a weight or something in the normal PI space. Then you can link to the full-size image. Its a guessing game of weights. (oh, and that would be a whole lot of fun on Fridays. Close up of side boob? Cheek? Who knows? Blow it up and see!)
Okay, I tried to stay out of this cuz it’s freakin’ stupid. First of all, who is looking at this site at work? You should get a pink slip, and you are Senior Douche.
Second, if you are worried that your significant other will disapprove, your life sucks. My girlfriend looks at these girls more than I do…some she would like to look more like some have “weird nipples”.
Either way, it’s no different than seeing 5,000 fucking dudes in a thing on lifting sites. The hot girls are still outnumbered. Not to mention this is America and it’s a slippery slope to start editing public discourse. So in summary:
1)looking at this at work should get you fired I hope.
2)if your girl is mad you suck
3) this is America biaaaatch
Interestingly enough, I was referred to this site from a post on the Oxygen Women’s Fitness forums to read Charles Staley articles.
When I got here, I thought, “Ooops! This is a guy’s site.” But, was pleasantly surprized when I was allowed to create a login and post to the forums.
Then, I saw the Powerful Images, and started chuckling.
But, it doesn’t surprize me in the least. This is a “guy” site - Heeelllooo!
And, some of the women are really unbelievably fit - and I use that as inspiration. Plus, I love looking at the male photos as well… Yes, some are kind-of shocking (porn material), but men are men.
I mainly come to T-Nation to read the fitness articles, and occasionally post to interesting discussions such as this. Reading the forums is fun and you find out a lot about other people’s opinions.
Every fitness site has its own culture and flavor - T-Nation definitely has its special flare. Don’t change!
And, another thing, you shouldn’t be looking at this site at work - you should be WORKING!
Along with the scantily clad women is also a lot of useful fitness information. So, just turn off your images if it really bothers you.

This has been over for about a week. Very mature and reasoned response, by the way. Now go finish your homework.

Actually your life sucks if you think someone should get fired for looking at this site at work. You sound like one of those chops that kisses ass all day.

In case you didn’t notice biaaaatch, this webstie can be accessed outside of America.
At most work sites, employers have it in their computer use policies that personnel viewing sites that are found profane, obscene, or inappropriate are subject to termination or other less damaging disciplinary actions.
At the job I work at, my employer has already terminated 6 personnel for viewing inappropriate sites. Two personnel were convicted and sent to prison due to evidence collected from the worksite (MySpace and sexchat freaks). Whatever they did, it doesn’t matter- they broke the policies of use and got caught.
While I love this site (images and words shared), this site will not get me my job as a firefighter back if iget terminate for innocently viewing this site. Even if the images are locked out, other content are not viewed by my employers as improving the quality of personnel. Even though the training content is gold here, my employer views cardio and machine circuit training as the optimal way for firefighters to train.
Get the picture? It’s not worth it for some of us, because we can get fired.

So you’re a firefighter and your boss can’t see how reading cutting edge training and nutrition information from some of the most qualified and respected authorities in the world is beneficial to your career and health? I find it extremely hard to believe that you would be fired for reading the articles on this website. If your union couldn’t defend you for this, you must have the world’s shittiest union. At the very least you have a major lawsuit against your municipality.
It sounds like you work for a dipshit. I would rather be fired than work for a ignorant dumbass.
