Personally, I couldnt agree with PGJ more. I’m fairly new here, and am a woman. I already turned off the Powerful Images feature both at work and at home because:

 1. i’d be embarassed if anyone saw some of those images on my screen
 2. i REALLY do not find them motivating orinspiring.
 3. many of them are anything but powerful.

Honestly, the same could be said for many of the pictures that appear with the articles. They are often just gratitutious boob or ass shots, and cheapen the message of the article and the look of the whole site.

On good days i just ignore it, on bad days i really feel that the site appears a lot less credible than it could be. Today is a bad day.

Hmmm, and what’s your view on women only fitness clubs? This site hasn’t been promoted as men only and while women are welcomed here, don’t expect to get too warm a reception if you try and change it to your perception of what men should like. Like other’s have said just change or personal options or leave. I get sick of the bullshit that a few people seem to think everyone else should cater to their insecurities, as your willingnes to say shit like this depends on wether you’re having a “bad day” or not. Lame.

I bet if you looked anything like the women in these pics you wouldn’t be complaining.

Lighten up, Uncle Pervie. Nobody is making any demands or expecting to be catered to. It was just an observation I had and I made a recomendation. I was over-ruled. Relax.

Excuse me, Uncle pervy? Who needs to lighten up? You are the guy that suggested things be changed to suit your viewpoint. All it would take is for you to change your options, but no, we should all have to change for you, nice.
Holy crap! I had no idea the Friday hottie was so precious. All I did was make a suggestion. Some of you are acting like I’m taking money out of your pocket or something. Good Lord. It’s a picture. It’s staying. Majority rules. I’m not fighting it. What’s the big deal?

by the way boys, now that all your testosterone is tied up in a big knot, i thought i might point out that i never suggested they change anything about the site and I turned the Powerful Images off a long time ago.

I meerly stated an opinion…try to get over it and contain yourselves.

Dudes, some of you are really freakin emotional about this. Enough so that you resort to name-calling, and rude flaming.

I don’t know if you’re the same scrawney kids who post “progress” pics of yourselves and look like you’ve never seen a gym. But no matter whether you actually train or not, i highly doubt the “testosterone” aspects of this website apply to you and i know for a fact that the “bodybuilding’s think-tank” part does not.

Of course, i’m not talking about everyone who posted in this thread, just a few of the especially pathetic ones.
Yes emotional and personal, like the Op, he started this crap, which has already been beaten to death. So either he’s an idiot or trying to start something cuz has nothin’ better to do. He then responds to a post I made to you and makes it personal by calling me a perv. I guess he thinks you can’t defend yourself and came riding in on his white horse. My post was on of the least “offensive”,yet I’m perv. Nothing in my post was or is preverted, utter bullshit.

Everyone should be offended once in their life, and hey I wasn’t even trying. He proves my point by referring to his"recommendation". Of course some including myself consider your post emotional and pathetic.

I guess he, like you, is having a “bad day”. Please feel free to be offended.

Ok, guys. Don’t flame me, but sometimes the images are a little…well, adult oriented. I read this forum at work and at home. If you want to put up a woman, can’t it be someone who actaully looks like they workout? I’m trying to get my wife into this site, but the first time I showed her, there was a big semi-porn picture of a girl with her boobs falling out. I had to explain to her that this is not a porno site.

To me, I’d prefer more muscle in the Powerful Image. To me, there’s nothing particularly “powerful” about a woman with no muscle in lingere. Please don’t flame, but it has caused a few uncomfortable situations when people walk by or look over my shoulder (at home and work).

Just a humble suggestion.
Yeah, I agree totally. And I really know where your coming from.
Any girl can go do cardio for hours and lift barbie colored wieghts and be little girl pretty like that, (and the majority do)-which is what I see when looking at Jessica Alba or Paris Hiltlin or whatever her name, but girls with muscle-who actually like, work at it-Britney Spears, Jessica Biel, look way better in my opinion, like they actually look like they are women and dont need to be guided by others through life. I use to be a little girly type (Im naturally light framed) but…its…ugh. I didnt like the feeling of not being able to pull my own. Not beating people in my sport. It sucked.
So yeah. I get you.

This site is what it is.

Guys discussing lifting and working out, and the reason most of us lift…hot chicks and their pursuit.

Would i go to a skinhead site and ask them to welcome me? NO

I shouldnt go there.

Dont ask the folks here to hold hands and sing “kum by yah”

If it makes you uncomfortable, use your freedom to patronize other sites.

Ok, Mr. New guy. Got it. I appreciate you and your 13-post input. Way to jump right in and speak for the whole group right off the bat.

Thats a really good argument…post count = validity. Here is a little tidbit for you: I have been a member of this site since since July 2005, and you have been a member since March 2006. Am I still the new guy?

I didn’t think so.

As for you and Superstar - and your claim that everyone is getting so fired up - its pretty simple. People get mad when others try to be their morality police. Did either of you really think there would be a different response on a site called “Testosterone” nation to your “input”. Perhaps the only more efficient way to have started a flame thread would have been to suggest the owners change the name to “Androgeneous” nation.

It’s that time of the month for some of the guys. Some of them may need Anthony Roberts help to get their hormones back in order!

I like the powerful images, I also turn them off when at work, I don’t go on T-Nation when my kids are around or if I do I’m selective about the articles or forums I check out.

I really don’t think it’s that difficult or see what the problem is.

Big deal? Guess you shoulda asked yourself that before you felt the need that a thread needed to be started about a subject that has been covered many times. No-one else thought it enough of an issue to start a thread, now did they? Who’s making the big deal? Of course if you’ve been around here long enough you’d know that you weren’t gonna get alot of love, but ya went ahead anyway.

Then after you purposly stir up shit and make a personal attack on me you say, gee what’s the big deal. Of course I don’t think you’d be so quick to call me or anyone “Uncle Pervie” if this was a face to face discussion. No, that isn’t a threat or any crap like that.

You chose me of all the posters to make your immature remark to, and why? Because you become “emotional” and made it personal.

I for one don’t come here for the pics, I enjoy them and that’s fine. My prob with this and your thread is the fact that you want us all to do something to suit you, now’s it the pic, next week it’ll be swear words, then who know’s what?

Haw! These types of threads always crack me up! BTW, Who’ is that in today’s Powerful Image? Looks like Christina Applegate…

THESE TYPES OF WOMEN (and guys- but thats mutual respect)…
ACTUALLY MAKE ME WANT TO KEEP TRYING TO MAKE THIS WORLD BETTER… OTHERWISE ID JUST WANT TO GET OFF THIS PLANET …NOW!!
PGJ wrote:
It’s really funny the way some of you guys are really upset about your little boobie pics. Shit, man. There’s about a million other sites that will show you a lot more. It’s just a little cheesie to me.
I hope TC will forgive me for speaking for him, but I’m pretty sure that has nothing to do with why he posts those pics; it’s not about porn or “getting your rocks off”. It’s about drawing a reaction. Testosterone running through your veins instinctively leads to an appreciation of sexual images. Plain and simple.

The Friday PI and Sex and the Male Animal forum constitute a very small percentage of everything this site has to offer. I doubt many people are coming here solely for the Friday pic and that particular forum.

I’ve been around this site for seven years. While the look has changed in the last few years to cater to the general masses, the average male in particular, I’ve never had a problem with it. Some people did leave when the site changed. Anyone who has a real problem with it can do the same.

This exact argument pops up at least every few months, ever since the inception of the PI. Most of the “regulars” around here have just gotten tired of beating a dead horse, hence the general lack of their responses.

The powerful images rotation is perfect. It should not change. Period.

The point was made earlier, but I feel compelled to say it again. This is TESTOSTERONE nation, not Estrogen Nation. Complaining about pics of scantily clad women on this website is like complaining about pics of black people on RapMusic.com!

High testosterone = high sex drive. Deal with it. Move on.

I find it intersting that PGJ didnt’ dismiss your input due to your “newness” as he did with Jimfound, hmmm.
PGJ wrote:
Alright. All the perverts and new guys have spoken.
Fine. Then it’s my turn. I don’t really give a damn about the pictures. Do I like attractive women? Hell yes. Do I need to have a daily fix? No. But one thing that really pisses me off, and it takes a lot to do so, is people coming around and trying to censor things because they don’t like it. You don’t like it? Then don’t look. It’s T-Nation’s right to post the pictures, and it’s your right to turn the damn option off.

Boobs good. Keep please. Drool

I don’t really see any problems with the images posted in powerful images. In fact, I usually look forward to seeing what pic was chosen for each particular day, whether it be some crazy physique or hot blonde.

I also do surf the site at work sometimes, and in light of the fact I like the images, I know some people do not share the same tastes. It takes about 2 seconds to deactivate the images and them I’m on my way again.

Plus, almost all of the powerful images relate to some aspect of T-Nation. Powerlifting, bodybuilding, olympic lifting, and our desire as men to look at pictures of hot women.
If I tell a friend about T-Nation and they visit, they might get the wrong impression (especially with the girl in the blue plastic outfit bending over).
Do NOT disparage Bianca Beauchamp!

Speaking of which, TC, if you have any more images of her I would be more than willing to store back-up copies on one of my servers for you. Just in case your computer crashes. Honestly, it is entirely altruistic.

Yep, there are other sites for those who want to look at women. There are other body building sites too.

This is T-Nation and I kinda like it just like it is.

Normally its going to be a woman who wants to come into this type of male dominated “club” and start making it better by cleaning it up. I think this site makes more than enough provisions for women and men who “really like this part but not really that part, and since I can’t let my whole damn family enjoy this we’d better fix it” may need to go somewhere else.

Listen, church goin, tax payin, family supportin, law abidin, regular guys need a little T&A now and then, and although I don’t know for sure, I have a gut feeling we’re gonna keep the pics.
