There’s a Wendy’s about 300m from the gym…

Nobody told me powerlifting was gonna be hard.

160/353x0
…belt off…
165/364x1x2 sets

Deadlifts felt pretty good, opener weight. Viking Deadlifter has really loosened up, have to wash and tailor it before Nationals, I could really feel the support lacking today compared to last week. Bench felt good but benching with a belt is not going to happen in time for Nationals, it holds the shirt but ends up restricting my arch and completely changes the mechanics of the lift…something I’ll have to work on later on. Took the belt off and the reps felt solid but the shirt does bunch up some, so I’m definitly not getting everything out of the shirt that I should.

Looks like your training is coming along nicely. How is the timing of the Nationals fitting in with your school schedule, I assume finals are coming up?

Heavy training is pretty much finished, I’ll get a decenlty heavy squat 275-80 in tomorrow and then a few ~80% lifts in this week.

With regards to classes/finals, none of mine start until mid-late April so its not interfering to much. I’ve had to defer a Exercise Physiology lab exam but that ends up working to my advantage. I miss W/R/F classes and a few clients on those days but it’s a sacrifice I can make once a year.

Wednesday, Week 20 Day 2

Squats [Comp. +40 Centurion/bw]

235/518x2
255/562x1

Opening squat felt really good, heavier then it should have when I walked it out but it came up like nothing.

Did some energy system work today after squats at work, a coworker somehow guilted me into it. Was really happy with the DB press PR, probably could of managed a few more.

Got some quick weak area training in at work today.

Training from last week and Wednesday:

Went into the gym Saturday to do some grip work, light upper back work and some light raw bench. Will try to get some 60% raw work in for the squat and bench today if I can find time at work.

Nationals is April 2-5th and I lift next Saturday, and leave for the venue Tuesday at supper time. I’ll be posting in here quite often so keep checking back.

I’ll be keeping an eye on the results, best of luck at the Nationals.

I didn’t realise you had a training log. Fun reading. By fun I mean impressive.

I will see you and your ladeez on Thursday.

Good luck at the meet bro. Give me something big to aim for!

Just a light session today in the warm up room at Nationals, needed to feel some weights. Feeling a lot better now, everything flew up so I can’t complain.

Thanks muchly.

Lifting in 8 hours, just throwing some Static-X on the Ipod then off to sleep.

Only two other Junior’s in my weight class, one with a ~700kg total and one with a ~740 total both notched those in 2009 so there is the potential for a pretty good battle for first, should be fun. I’ll weigh in between 94-95kg, they are both cutting/dieting to make 100kg.

Wish me luck.

Wishing you well man
