Power Failure to Blind Date

I assume you mean the girls, and I agree that could be quite problematic – they don’t want you to have prettier locks than they do… =-)

On a serious note though, I got a very positive response when I grew out my hair. They like the natural curl I have going. That and my enormous forehead is now hidden. You can fit a legible Mercator projection on this thing, no joke.

Well, you know what they say about the size of a man’s forehead!

I think a true blind date should be conducted with blind folds or masks on so you really know if you like eachother before seeing eachoter first.

They have dating parties like this… they turn out the lights in a restaurant, and everyone eats and talks in darkness; only at the end of the night do they turn the lights on. The idea is that you’ll talk to people and decide if you like them before seeing them.

I hate to sound shallow and all…but how they look has a lot to do with how much I like them. A fat girl can be sweet as hell, but if she ate the damn table, I don’t want any part of it.

You could ease into the topic of health, and hope she brings up working out, or start conversations about exercise related things like hiking, or mountain climbing. She doesn’t have to have done it, but if she shows interest there’s a good chance she’s in shape.

Or ask her if she thinks she’s attractive. I’ve seen hot chicks who don’t think they’re attractive, but very few ugly chick who did think they were attractive. [/quote]

True.

But I’d still rather see what I’m getting into…I’ve seen girls in good shape who look like skeletor. I don’t take any chances.

Parties like that are for people with way too much time on their hands.

I know at least two girls that have a lot of resistance, can run rather fast, are strong (relatively), but are STILL somewhat on the “fat” side (thick hips/legs/bottom, for example). Strage stuff indeed.

It’s directly correlated to the size of his eyebrows?

Well, we met. Basically, just an informal “let’s grab a coffee” and see if the other is human type of thing.

We talked for quite a while.

Odds are good we’ll never speak to each other again!

Mr. nephorm,

While you and Einstein share similar wit and high intelligence, that is where your similarities end.

Apparently he got all kinds of ass.

You didn’t talk about politics, did you?

you did eventually meet, right?

If it makes you feel better, someone tried to set me up this weekend as well. We won’t be speaking again, either!

haha. Do I even want to know what happened…

There are other subjects?

I hear ya. For the first meeting, I keep things to no more than a half hour and as I see the conversation losing momentum; I say,“So it was nice meeting you…blah, blah.” I decide the time.

I solidify a second date if she grabs my interest or let them know it just nice meeting them if not. This leads to less phone calls and stupid conversations before we meet again. I hate phone calls … alright, enough of my bullsheet dating words of wonder. (I can’t wait to go back to grad school and be around more ladies)

Nothing horrific. Just very awkward. I was under the impression that she was expecting me to stop by, and she apparently didn’t think the person who did the ‘setting up’ was serious. She was very nice to me, but clearly not interested. Like I said, nothing horrific.

I’m calling you out, vroom. You are way lame.

Why do you start a thread about this and refuse to provide even the barest of details/pics of the girl naked?

LOL.

My life may be an open book around these parts, but I’m not about to provide any details about anyone else on here… it’s not like I live in a metropolis y’know.

LMAO!

I’d call you an insufferable bastard, but, one, that would be news to noone, and two, you’d probably take pride in being called such.

I guess it’s safe to reopen this thread at this point… though I won’t be providing any pictures or getting into nitty gritty details.

Things have been going great… especially without any ridiculous embarrassing stuff in this thread to drive her off before we really knew each other!

Wait, you’re still seeing her?
