Ribs. I have small “meat tags” on one side, and it hurt bad! The feeling of the needle rattling my whole body, wasn’t the most fun I’ve ever had

one of my sleeves…alot of biomech craziness…had to cover some old garbage so ceratin directions had to be taken…jsut finished teh other sleeve but have no good pics yet
The biomech is what I plan for my right half sleeve. Due to work I can only go with half sleeves.
Your work won’t let you wear long sleeves to keep it covered?
I am a regional manager for a occupational staffing company. I meet CEO’s and HR managers all the time. Now I wear button up shirt, jeans and steal toe boots. I roll up the sleeves on my shirt to the elbow, cause in Houston it is fucking hot. Personally I cant stand wearing shirts to the wrist even in formal setting I am always waiting to roll up my sleeves.
i feel your pain…i am the VP of my company but we are in the steel product manufacturing business. At first i worried about doing it but in teh end i said fuck it. When i travel for business i wear long sleeves but oddly enough i have had nothing but compliments even from people that you really would not expect.

For instance the owners of my company are EXTREME right wing christian conservatives, had i walked in like this off the street i never would have been hired but i have more than earned my keep for the last 20 years so they let me do whatever i want…i am the go to guy for about every damn thing so they give me certain liberties.

It’s kind of ironic that because tattoos have a bad rep, people with tattoos can’t have “reputable” jobs, and because tattoos are only seen on people in non-“reputable” jobs, tattoos have a bad rep. What this world needs is a couple of CEO:s to get high-quality facial tattoos to start off tattoos creeping towards being acceptable.
Actually they are becoming a lot more acceptable. I know all kinds of people with tats with really good jobs. As long as it’s not like overdone where they have them on their hands and neck or face.

The inside of my arm took 5 hours. One session. I had the shakes when it was over.

I asked a guy at the shop that is covered (everywhere, entire head/face/neck, everything) what hurt the most and he said, in order:

1)armpit
2)ribs
3)upper lip

He also said that every place has its spots that suck pretty bad.

My sacred heart, on my sternum was pretty brutal. Needle on bone is intense, or I’m a huge vagina…that’s a possibility

I have one on the back of my neck a biohazard on my spine. That shit felt like a 9 on the pain factor. My sleeve was a 14 hour total in 3 sessions. After 5 hours your pain threshold is shot to hell.

Agreed. And going back to have it touched up, a couple weeks later, ouch. My coverup hurt like a bitch too, going over the old scar tissue I guess

Gawd damn! you are on tough hombre to sit that long, and on the inside of your arm no less.

I had the shakes at the end of mine too only because the shops heater turned off and it was winter lol. I was the last customer of the day and it was on a timer. Took about two hours.

My sister has a bunch and I recall her saying the one along her spine was a killer, thought she was gonna lose a tooth filling from the vibration of the needle.

I think this is the key thing. I was ok for the first 2 hours. Hour 3 started getting rough, then 4-5 were really bad. When he finished he said “You know what’s really gonna suck? Now I have to go and do another pass on the whole thing.”

I almost cried.

Luckily he was joking.

^ Nice, did they use a machine? Just wondering if anyone got it done old, old school like at the begining of Ninja Assasin.
Thanks.
This was done with a machine. I have plans on having one done by the monks at some point and it will be done by the traditional method.

I would like to have one also. Hoping to hear from someone who had it done. While tats hurt the traditional looks like a more painful process.

I had this done in Thailand several years ago. Its on my left upper back. I love the way it turned out.
Fucking sick man, so detailed. I love it.
As for time, mine took two sessions 5 hour first one and 4 the second. Healed beautifully and the shoulder seemed pretty pain free.

Thanks I am very happy with how it turned out. I would highly recommend a visit to see Ugly at Naga Tattoo in Chiang Mai, Thailand if ever in the area and looking for some really great tattoo work.

For my next tattoo I am looking at going to Wat Bang Phra near Bangkok and having a traditional, spiritual tattoo done by one of the temple monks.

I wouldn’t know about taking the needle for that long. My artist works in two hour spurts. I think it’s more for him than the customers, but he says it gives the piece a good chance to heal before you come back for more in 2 to 3 weeks.

So far the worst for me was the crease between your forearm and upper arm or the inside of my forearm right below my wrist. That part felt like he was hitting all the tendons.

This.

And I’d like to have the names of my two son’s tattooed on my arms, facing the rib cage…

The elbow by your “funny bone” is also very tender.

.

HR Giger baby, done by nick chaboya. some insane single needle detail.

Was my first tattoo with a rotary machine, they hurt much less!
