Positive Failure on 30-10-30

ENT & FF40
In my situation I have continued to progress since I adapted the SuperSlow into what is now (almost exclusively) 303030 and Max Pyramid. Until 303030 came along I had basically maxed out most stacks on Max Pyramid and did not fully understand the need to reduce session volume and extend recovery time (for an exercise and session).

I have had a few setbacks such as Ch19, an affliction, and my self-ignorance of what was actually obesity. Currently I am almost back to my pre-Co19 levels and will begin volume reduction. As an example I will likely be doing a Max Pyramid Leg Press once every 30 days by March, and adding 5 pounds per session. That is all I can handle, but the inroad is extremely difficult yet easy to enact. By the end of 2021 I will likely be adding 2.5 pounds every 40 days which is basically 20 pounds a year. That is how I will not regress and continue to makes gains. Through all this I am able to periodically demonstrate my increased strength in a controlled manner.

IMO and experience both Dr. Darden and John Little do not fully realize the incredible “power” of their protocols. They have basically solved the outroading concern but do not effectively address the overload of joints and system as one gets stronger. As one gets stronger one must reduce session volume and extend recovery, and … of course … protect one’s body and joints by reducing and removing dynamic loading aka motion.

I recall the waning days of SuperSlow when (even with a trainer) I did not add any weight to the MedEx Leg Press for over a year. I recall trying every new concept of “set extenders” to no avail. All that was needed was volume reduction and extended recovery. A SuperSlow session (perfectly performed) would trash me and harm my body (colds, flu, afflictions, soreness, joint distress, stress, inflammation and what-not).

Quite an evolution over 45 years!
