Stop engaging in what is psychologically termed confirmation bias. That is you selectively interpret information in a way that supports your own beliefs/prejudices. Which in this case is clearly that anyone who adopts a stance like the one I have taken is a sexually repressed puritan (prim and proper?). That fact is I believe that within a loving, committed relationship, a healthy sexual relationship is essential to a healthy emotional one.
Personally my wife and I are well versed in numerous sexual practices (including making home videos ((which you mention in your attack on me)) for our eyes only) all of which have been explored in the context of a committed loving relationship and which have only enhanced the bond between us. But to tar us all with the same brush is both ignorant and immature. Much of the money is made through memberships to Internet websites or through sales of videos online. Of the thousands and thousands of women and men who have been involved in acting in pornography, how many are still going after 15-20 years? 1,2,5,10? Not a lot, I can assure you that. Pornography treats people as objects through which other people can obtain sexual pleasure. The pornography industry has no respect for its actors other than using them as a means of acquiring profit. Because of this the actors are discarded once they can no longer “perform” to the pornographer’s expectations. For every porn star who becomes a big celebrity or millionare there are hundreds and thousands of others who don’t make it. The very few victims of pornography? How about the wife whose husband sinks thousands of dollars into his pornography addiction, who no longer has the close relationship with her husband that she used to because he spends all his time looking at porn? How about the women and children who are raped, molested, or killed by men who inflame their passions by looking at porn? How about the porn actors who find themselves on the street without a job after a year or two of making films, with no idea what they are to do with their lives, with intense feelings of guilt for the years they wasted in porn? The list goes on and on.
