I agree it’s not nothing, it’s something for middle-class earners - I just don’t think it’s an economic game changer that has fueled economic growth, and the data don’t support that theory. That 14% reduction in liability in your scenario isn’t creating an across the board spending wave that is driving economic growth on the demand side.
The true test of whether it was good public policy is did it do what it was purported to do: unleash a supply-side driven boom. It didn’t. (I know you agree that trickle down doesn’t work, I’m just clarifying.)
So, it didn’t work, and it wasn’t paid for, and now we have oceans more of red ink as a result. In what universe is that good policy?
But you’re forgetting how good it was at pissing off liberals and lowering poor people’s tax refunds. We get a dozen comments a week even today about “I’m not a Republican, but I love seeing liberals pissed off” (lol).
Trump is the WEAPON that conservatives are happy to use against PC culture…very empowering…very empowering. Like a bazooka that is activated by a vote.
Nothing says adult and leadership like a guy who won’t admit when he’s messed up. I find that to be one of the most mature things someone can do which is why Trump will never apologize
I don’t really care what not apologizing says about someone. I’m just saying that’s why accusations don’t effect him the way that’s expected.
“Grab ‘em by the pussy”
Expected response: I’m truly sorry that I made such an insensitive comment, and now I beg the forgiveness of those who will never forgive me.
Truthful answer(paraphrased): That’s how men talk, in private. It means nothing.
Edit: The expected response is an admission that you believe your action was wrong. The truthful answer is, well, truthful and not an admission of wrongdoing.
One spends X and doesn’t really do anything to pay for X other than raise some taxes (but not enough to cover X), so they run deficits from overspending
One spends the same X and not only does nothing to pay for X but actively keeps reducing the amount coming in to pay for X, so they run even larger deficits from overspending
Forget any preconceived notions about these parties - which one would you call the more fiscally responsible party?
Look at the way it works out for people. The U.S. somewhat believes that “innocent until proven guilty” applies outside of legal proceedings. If you apologize, most seem to view it as an admission of guilt(or guilty conscience). If you don’t, they see it as a “not guilty” verdict.
What Trump said didn’t bother me because of the content but because he’s old. I could never imagine my grandfather trying to impress some little douche with stories of pussy grabbing.
I’ve said this before on here many times. Say what you will about some of the campaign things some of these far lefties are doing at least some of them have policy ideas that show what they would do or how they would do it.
Trump just said a bunch of stuff like I want to do good shit and if elected trust me good shit will happen because I have the best ideas on everything that you will find out when I’m elected.
I would imagine he will do the same thing again because it worked the first time. People will beat you up on specifics. His supporters can just believe Mexico will pay for the wall because they are fucking idiots.
Yeah it was suggested above that he gets away with crazy shit because he doesn’t apologize.
In actuality he gets away with crazy shit, because his supporters in general don’t care what he says or does. In general, I think his supporters pay less attention to politics.
