I would rather be in the bottom 20% of earners in the US right now than in the top 20% 300 years ago.
Technological advancement allows for a better life across the board (there is a trickle down effect). Free trade allows for the fastest technological advancement. Therefore, free trade is the best way for improving everybody’s life.
We agree about 300 nyears ago:) I would think it would be easier today to be in the bottom %10 now than the top %1 300 years ago.
We do how ever disagree on free trade. I am for fair trade , IMO free trade is some mythical Beast that no one has ever captured. Fair trade IMO is the best we can hope for
LOL at using the word fair to denote complete control by one group of people who run things according to their own personal sense of fairness even if that means forcing people to do things against their will.
you are correct , it is asserting a little more control to Maximize your gain in the deal . It is something everybody does. I think the word forcing is way to strong. The word is fair.
Force is to strong a word to mean making someone do something they don’t want to under threat of violence and imprisonment?
I would never condone that type of trade.
So you don’t condone government control of trade?
Do I understand you correctly , that you think that cheap goods is the best we can do for the economy ?
I don’t think you have the right to control the “economy”. And by economy I mean individuals.
So we should have no restrictions on immigration or merchandise ?

You can get caught up in your free market bull shit , but it is short sighted. WE are talking about making America better. Not getting something for 2 cents cheaper
Sorry but that was what made America great in the first place. It has been systematically destroyed over the decades though. And as long as people think the way you do it will never return.
Please give me an example of free market
A person voluntarily participating in a transaction of any kind without use of or threat of force from anyone.
So we should have no restrictions on immigration or merchandise ?
Pretty broad definition of economy there. Tell me where you derive the right to.
The economy is a broad subject , I believe we have a right to guarantee we get the best deal on the international arena , Our Government has to take our part just like every other country does for their Patriots .

I supose I should ask the question directly What country has a market that is not interfered with like taxes , Insurance , workers rights any of the anti free market (customer protection ) that America has

Not a definition an example please
I’ll mail you a dollar if you admit there are lots of examples.

Do you feel the Government should protect us ?

Who guarantees the best deal form whom? Who makes the decisions? Who decides what best means? Who is we?
I will try to state my point as simply as possible , If I open a widget factory , I have to Insure ,my property , my Product, Carry Workers Comp. Pay Social Security for Employees , Unemployment Insurance, I have to pay income tax on any profit.
If I sell Chinese shit , I do not have to do any of these.
So I would say if you are Chinese, America has a free market , If you are American, it does not.
Everyone thinks the Chinese depressed economy benefits America. It doesn’t it benefits China . The Patriots of China can not afford any products other than Chinese.
America pays American Prices for Chinese goods , if they sell them any cheaper it is miniscule .
I believe this is a Left over from Ronald Reagan , supply side economics , now that we have exported all the jobs and the unions are gone it is time to see that supply side economics is not sustainable

This is the opposite of free market.
And yet they have the all powerfull collective deciding what is best for everyone. That is a poor example for your argument.
again, who is this america person you speak of? Who specifically are you talking about?

But again, why do you have the right to make me do or not do things?
