Here’s the whole story. Hogan is suing Gawker Media. I know this is a double standard and I get it, and normally I wouldn’t care, but if the entire history of your entire life is open the scrutiny, then it should be applied equally.

I’ll have to let it all shake out before I continue to pass judgement on it, but one thing about the child porn crime which baffles me. A number of prominent members of my town have been busted for viewing child porn. Why would these people bother to view, download this stuff when there’s tons and tons of legal porn everywhere you look on the internet? Is it some form of mass hysteria, or mass insanity? I just don’t get the attraction.
One thing I do know is 1 video is worth so many pictures so if a person had, let’s say, a thousand pictures of child porn on his computer for example, he may just have had one video. Another thing is, what if it’s a deal like it was with Tracy Lords, for instance, a porn video with someone of questionable age and the perp may not have known he or she downloaded it?
This one guy was a great upstanding member of our community, he gave to charities, raised money ect…one of his vices was, I guess, child porn. Now this dude never did anything else illegal I know about, never hurt anyone, but because he viewed child porn on his computer, he went to prison and his life and reputation was destroyed.
I get that it’s a crime, but is the punishment too harsh? What do you think? also, what the hell’s the attraction to this stuff? Is it going on more and more now a days, or is more information out there so we’re hearing about it more?
And why not go after the people who are making this stuff and sending them to prison? I agree that if it’s a home-made child porn video and the perp was involved, send his ass to prison asap. No question there.
