I am 30ish. I voted in the three most recent presidential elections.
I have lived, worked and fully supported myself in six different U.S. states. Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, Nevada, and California have all been home to me and each enriched my perspective. I have lived in intense urban metro areas as well as rural farm communities. Both urban and rural issues are important to me.
I also was born and lived part of my childhood and high school school years in Jamaica. I never lived in Jamaica without my parents support. Living in a third world nation, only recently independent form Britain, first hand was a profound influence despite the obvious shelter of family and youth in which I experienced it.
I have always had a mix of liberal, conservative, libertarian, secular, and also religious, mystical beliefs. I was more liberal, religious, and mystical(classical philosophy) as a younger man and have become more conservative, libertarian, and secular over time.
I have experimented with trying to be more exclusively one political concept or another, including religious, but much prefer the concept of synthesis and integration; this does imply a left leaning in some ways but not as much as some may suppose.
That makes me an independent. I am also a centrist. I reserve the right to have extreme views of any leaning when faced with extreme conditions but baring that I am a centrist at heart.
