I’m sure all of the fans have heard of this, but is anyone actually planning on seeing them play this summer?
Ha ha ha ha ha…NO.
I was until I found out what they were selling tickets for. I’d love to see Stewart Copeland live in the flesh, but I ain’t no rich man.
Dammit, just when I finally got over the fact that not every song has to have repeating lyrics.
“Sending out an SOS, Sending out an SOS, Sending out an SOS, Sending out an SOS…” arrgh!
The ticket prices are absurd, and most venues are already sold out. I’d like to say that I think the police are one of the greatest bands of all time and it’s the stuff no one hears that truly makes them great.

tickets are pretty reasonable @ $55, $90, And $225. that’s face value of course but the band doesn’t get a kickback from stubhub or ticketsnow so those prices are actually on the low side for current bands, and definitely low for a major re-union tours. nowhere near the stones, the eagles, madonna, elton john or even alabama for example.
but for truly ABSURD ticket prices look no further than this summer’s “easthampton social” the lineup is dave matthews, billy joel, prince, tom petty, and james taylor.
tickets are a mere $3,000 per show but not available individually. you MUST buy the package for all 5 dates -$15,000!!!
but hey at least they FINALLY have what rock shows have been missing since the beginning : CATERING !! i suppose i’ll never listen to tom petty again…sigh.

Shouldn’t that be “Police are back together”?

No. “The Police” is a singular reference. It is the name for the combination of Sting, Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum (whatever the fuck their names are – I’m a metal guy.) It would be correct to use the third-person plural if the sentence were "Sting, Guy #2 and Guy #3 are back together. Since we are referring to one single group, Strunk and White side with the O.P.

My mistake. I read [heard maybe] that they were starting at $300-ish. Sounds like the “easthampton social” is catering to those who live in the “actual hamptons”.
I would, but I’m not a wealthy man. Hopefully, there will be a good DVD of the tour…
I’m seeing them for free in New York beginning of August. I like them but not a crazy fan. I hope it’s good.

Like these guys need more money. I hope to God this is a charity event.
Must be a new live album coming out or ‘best of’ collection or something. I was repeatly told by ‘police’ fans that they would NEVER get back together due to some beef between sting and copeland.
Glad its done and dusted - i have rare CD of them playing live in Essen, Germany and copelands drumming is exquisite.

That is ABSURD! 15,00? Thats a new car or truck. They don’t need more money…but then again, the more money you make, the more you have to make.

I despise you.
Damn, I hadn’t heard that the Police were getting back together… Thanks for letting us know. Best news I’ve received since I found out Rage Against The Machine were getting back together.

I agree. It’s sad when you see a lot of good bands that are broken up when the members of those bands are still around. They take each other for granted and waste the time they have on earth fighting instead of making use of their talent. That is why I was so glad when I found out they were back together.
sweet!
