Police Chief Fights Steroid Abuse

I don’t know if you read the entire article, but it said that there were officers on prescribed steroids. Those are not illegal, but they are being thrown under the bus as “roid ragers” when you have officers that are drinking while armed.

I was just trying to point out how they printed both articles, but the one about steroids was actually printed much earlier in the section than was the alcohol article.

I think the police should have access to AAS but be carefully monitored. I think any edge they want to volunteer to have is fine by me. But as soon as there is trouble with that officer his AAS rights should be taken away.

Seems logical. Too bad the people making the laws seems to like sucking the extreme conservatives and extreme liberals dicks and can’t think for themselves.

The people that refuse to use logic are the ones who dictate the worlds policies.

fuck that. make it legal for everyone then. if they’re prescribed it by a dr then fine

We live in a society where some drugs are okay, and others aren’t.

I don’t see bodies piling up from AAS use but the statistics from alcohol related deaths are pretty crazy (e.g.: drunk driving).

Go figure.

I just think this displays the deliberate disinformation of the media.

No wonder the public is stupid in regards to steroids.

if I have surgery, I want my damn steroids to recover.

when I get old and start to shrink, I want my damn steroids to save my muscle mass

and let’s put the blame for the violent behavior where it belongs, on the alcohol being consumed by off-duty officers.

So an off duty policeman should NEVER drive 66 in a 65 mph zone?
I know I can’t drive 55

Preach it, sister!

People can drink all the alcohol they want, smoke all the Marlboro’s they want, be addicted to all the presciption drugs they want, and it’s ok. As long as uncle sam gets his cut then the liberal media pretends the deaths attributed to all of these things are not happening. Why do you think they’ve made such a big deal about steroids in sports now? It’s simple, it’s because sports-just like the tobacco and alcohol companies -are billion dollar industries that have made alot of people rich and has long been supported and taxed heavily by govornment.

As we all of course know the steroid “industry” is not…if it were, you can guarantee that the media would not be allowed to make so many waves. Think about it, do you think the sporting industry can let it be known that they’ve been supporting and taxing “illegal” drug use? When was the last time anyone saw a steroid user robbing a liquor store to support his habit. It doesn’t happen. But if you ask the media or govornment, we’re all a bunch of raging lunatics on the brink of a homicidal rage. Leave the cops alone, they’re just people looking for the same things every other gear user is looking for. Just because they are cops doesnt mean they support the communistic views of the liberal media and the bullshit retoric the govornment is pushing. I know a few cops and I don’t think I know a single one who gives a flying shit if I or anybody else is using gear. Give it a rest and start worrying about why the govornment is telling you what you can and can’t put into your body just because they haven’t figured out a way to control and tax the market yet…that’s the real problem, not the cops.

I totally agree that alcohole is probably the culprit here.
I will probably get jumped on for saying this…
But I don’t use AAS and dont plan to. I do drink occasionally though and I enjoy it.
So don’t go making too much noise, the government in Australia is already starting to make it harder and more expensive for me to drink.
Lets blame smoking instead

Thanks pushharder, sorry about the paragraphing…I forget sometimes when I type to fast.

I hate when folks just jump on the “roid rage” band wagon! It was such a poorly written article.

I do agree that cops should not break the law, but this article mentioned that these cops were under a doctors supervision

and THEN

in a separate article, no mention of the other article, they talk of the problems of off-duty officers and alcohol.

so bad… so bad… alcohol and guns are not a good thing

Are you referring to the article in the op? I don’t see where it says they were under doctor supervision.

I would imagine there’s a lot more out there like this guy:

Personally I think the cops should be roided up, all of them precribed by a Doc as an assistance to their jobs and the roids manufactured at home (labs) by professionals so they get top grade, less chance of things getting into their system by poor manyfacturing abroad or across the border. They should be monitored on a regular basis, whether that be quarterly, semi annual or yearly. Given an exercise program condusive to their needs, mass and agility etc.

Someone does not become an asshole overnight by using roids, someone does not become an asshole as the result of drinking (drinking does let them use poor judgement) Once an asshole always an asshole, if you drink and because the alcohol made you do it, think again you were a dick before you drank, it just removed your judgement to control it. There are a lot of good cops out there, I’m thinking perhaps a minority of them are poor cops and I’ve met a lot of cops and for the most part even while being stopped for speeding they were decent folks. If you give a cop (or anyone) attitude what do you expect in return?

OMFG THE POLICE WILL BE ABLE TO DO THEIR JOBZZZZ!!!1one! OH NOEZ!

No it couldn’t be the legal drug proven to cause anti-social behavior and violence (alcohol, for the slow ones reading this), it must be teh roidz!!!1!

The media is full of a bunch of fucking idiots.
And just how do steroids improve your health…just curious, please elaborate.

There is a legalize pot movement…is there a legalize AAS movement also? If not, there should be.

Actually, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the article from a journalistic standpoint. It was a story covering a presentation from an anti-steroid police official.

All statements of fact were properly attributed to a source. There is no “pro cops on steroids” quote because I doubt there is anyone with journalistic credibility espousing that viewpoint.

You might not agree with the sentiments expressed in the article, but from a journalistic standpoint the piece itself was not objectionable.

And as for two articles ignoring each other, that is an editing issue. Two different topics, two different articles.
I’ll be the first to bash the biased media, but you are so wrong here.
