Good job dude. But as the rest got to be the legs that are laggin, as a lot of dudes I suffered with the same prob, my squat is only just now starting to gain some distance on my bench, that�??s how bad I was,
What helped me a lot was going for runs with weighted vests and weighted back packs on, 35kg or so (that�??s heavy 4 me) depending on your overall strength, seemed really good for the calves. Might be worth a go?

I don’t think anyone was being harsh at all. It’s been pretty solid advice actually, and fair ratings. Remember that lower body work will also help add serious density to the upper body, particularly the lower back and traps.
