Please Explain Fashion to Me...

Wear what you think is cool. Be confident. After that who gives a shit. If you wear things you really like there shouldnt be any problems.

Fashion laws are bull in my opinion, no one is gonna tell me how to dress. One thing tho, navy and black arent good together

eh, nothing wrong with tight. Unless you have a muffin top.

Fashion isn’t as important.

What really matters is style – something that is congruent for your personality and helps create the image that you’re a cool guy.

After that, fashion will follow.

Gay people will want shit thats just too tight.
thats true but its just so hard to find jeans that arent tight around the legs

As a female, I don’t care what a guy is wearing as long as it is clean, somewhat wrinkle-free and appropriate for the occasion. My peeve is ratty-assed footwear. Most of my friends will agree - Get some decent shoes! Get dressed, look down at your feet. If they look a little worn to you - they are probably ratty.
Best advice ever! I mostly just go out in a T-shirt and jeans but I always, ALWAYS keep my shoes clean. Shoes are my one pet-peeve, I hate, hate, hate, hate when some one steps on my shoes and dosnt say excuse me.

I sort of agree. Sort of.

I think there is a great misconception that men inherently lack taste and a sense of style. This is pure garbage.

This accusation comes as an offense against the fact that men’s tastes do not change ALONG with trends, as women’s tastes often do. Men’s taste in everything is pretty unchanging. Just look at how coveted the young male demographic is to marketers; they are just tougher to market to because they are tougher to convince. That’s my theory, anyway.

I have my own style. I dress for the occasion and don’t obsess about details. I am told I dress fine.

Male ‘fashion’ should always be understated, anyway, if you ask me. The only girl I will shop with and whose opinion I will ask, because I KNOW she knows my tastes, is my younger sister. Otherwise, I have an idea of what I want. If I don’t find it, I don’t buy anything else in its place. I think this is where men and women differ; women will go nuts that they walked into a store and didn’t find what they wanted, so they HAVE to buy something. Men - or at least, I - won’t do this…

If I really like something but it’s not 100% how I envisioned the design looking on me, I’ll get it tailored and change the buttons or something. That’s rare, but that’s instead of dropping loads of cash on ten different items to assuage my frustration of not finding the one piece I came looking for.
You got it Dead to Rights my friend.

Ya I dont even let my GF pic out my clothes b/c she wants to be all trendy. Shell go out shopping and come back and be like “see what I got!” My response…“Yep, its ugly”
debraD wrote:

Wtf! Women get muffin tops not men! Men have flat tire(s), spare tire(s), pot belly, beer belly, gut, beer gut, rolls, love handles, hot dog(s), sausage(s), layers of glub. Sausages and hot dogs are usually refer to the rolls you see on the back of the head and or neck but they can be elsewhere.

As punishment I find it fitting that you show the sister picture to your avatar…Frontal would be the technical term. =)

As far as fashion goes if you can’t find shit that fits properly just get interesting t-shirts. My gf picked me up a Chuck Norris shirt today from her work…3 bucks after clearance and her employee discounts.

Very nice =)

fuck fashion and abercrombie shit

Okay, I will say this much for the manly men out there who think they are too cool for fashion…

Being dressed well, however fashion works, gets you punani. Any guy I’ve ever seen who has a strong fashion sense can always pull really hot pussy.

or you have the guys who dont need certain clothes to get it haha

something is deemed fashionable when someone does something and people think its cool. then the other people will imitate it, build it, and inevitable destroy it.

fashions are generally ever evolving with a 3 or so year gap between 1 new one and the next.

fashion is also just whats accepted as “in”, cool, attractive, wanted.

different groups have different styles of fashion. fashion and style are communative but not the same word. 2 groups can have completely different sets of “style” but both in their own mindset are using some kind of fashion.

its not that there is a fashion god who speaks directly to someone and then sets the word like some biblical story rather theres some people who just enjoy it and are more aware of whats going on around them in terms of the “in” style. you obviously arent aware of whats in, so some people who consider themselves to know wanted to help you.

honestly i think gay people have pretty awful style. some are normal and just dress casual with carnigans, aldo shoes, and a button down which is acceptable dress regardless of your sexual orientation but then theres the queer people who are extra flamboyant and just look retarded.

for the record, no one thinks “your too manly to wear nice clothes” they just think youre a scrub. that shit might be accepted in Montana or something but everywhere with actual cities you gotta get your swag up.

If I see one more chick wearing rubber boots i’m gonna freak out.

So how 'bout those old western scarf things?..
They used to be kinda cool. Every faggot in Chucks and skinny jeans has them now.

I know women have a thing about shoes in general, but I find it offensive that anyone could judge my taste who wears uggs or crocks in public.

Uggs should be renamed the “How I’ll look when I have cankles” shoes. Maybe they’re just named for the sound I make when I see a hot girl wearing them.

When I was your age in HS, it was cool to wear chucks. I had like 6 pairs. That was before they got associated with gheyness for some odd reason… Chucks were the shit, I want to rock my yellow ones again but not with all the polo shit.

I wear cargo or khaki shorts and a ralph lauren polo usually. RL Polos never go out of style.

My thought exactly. What the hell are those things anyways? Extra shit from the condom factory?

I just picked up some AWESOME new flannel pajamas for work.

Fashionable AND comfortable, especially for the 7 second commute from the bedroom to the office.

are you talking about bandanas?
here in urban VA you can’t wear certain colors in certain places without dodging a little gunfire. Mall security confiscates them. hell, I work the door at a club on weekends and I’ll take them from ya.

skinny jeans just look so uncomfortable…

I admit I spend a lot of money on clothes. If you are clueless then fine a brand you know other people think if fashionable and then just choose stuff from their current line that you like. As long as you don’t completely choose the wrong combinations you’ll be fine.

You’ll also be amazed how much nice sunglasses can add to your look (ie ray ban wayfarers or aviators, or carrera champions)

The brands I usually like are:
Ralph Lauren (except for the RLJ stuff)
Lacoste
Herringbone
Country Road
American Apparel
Emporio Armani
Crocodile (nice polos)
Nudie Jeans
Tommy Hilfiger (not all their stuff)
Pierre Cardin
YSL
