My order of Low-Carb Metabolic Drive just arrived so I made myself a shake and I gotta say that it’s sickeningly sweet. Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas to maybe lessen the sweetness or something?
Use more water/milk, and add ice.
the ice helped but I just stick it in a cup thing with a lid and this thing to help it mix and shake it (kinda like a martini shaker) to mix it. When I make 16 oz. it fills it to the top so I cant add anymore water. I added ice this morning just to cool it a bit and it definitely helped.
By the way anyone notice kind of a mocha-esque flavour going on? lol. I noticed the same thing with the Metabolic Drive bars too (shake = chocolate, bars = cookie dough)
Yeah about the flavour - I sometimes add a couple spoons coffee to enhance it. Also try milled flaxseeds and mixed berries, that actually tastes pretty good.
I have found bananas to be the very best way to modify the flavor of any Metabolic Drive powder. One does the trick, but two will REALLY make a difference. Try it out: 24 ounces water, 1-2 bananas, 2 scoops of Metabolic Drive all in a blender. Add the bananas to the water and blend on low, then switch to high and dump in the powder for about 1 minute.
If you are using more than two scoops, then you’ll just have to play around with it on your own. I’ve used blueberries and raspberries. Blueberries are my favorite alternative.
Use a blender whenever possible. A table spoon of pb helps aswell.
I had the same problem. Not sickening sweet but too sweet.
I mixed choc with van and it was much better.
I’ve found mixing flavors together works wonders.
Now I don’t have that problem.
Great recipe: Mix: 2 scoops van MD, 2 tbl spoons Natty pb, 6oz calorie countdown milk. Mix with a wand blender. Refrigerate or put in freezer for a little bit.
This tastes like a cheat pudding! I usually don’t make comments like this because well most people exaggerate.
I am not exaggerating.
Just try the mixing of the flavors I think it will surprise you.
What worked for me was getting used to it. Just give it some time, you’ll get there too.
