DB Farmer Walks:
105x6 trips
105x7 trips
105x7 trips
Comments: Murdered the squat, last time I squatted 265 I believe I did 7 reps. I was aiming for 10 today, but when I hit 10 I felt I had 2 more in me so I went for it. I feel my cardiovascular system is getting adjusted to these higher rep squats, because I am not as gassed by them. Great workout today!
Missed thursday and friday sessions last week due to being sick/midterms. Lack of sleep, stress, cold weather, and bad nutrition led me to catching a cold and missing workouts. Im attempting to make up the press and deadlift workouts during week 4 and then taking the rest of the week off until cycle 3. This is how press day went…
Comments: Still feeling fatigued from being sick and having trouble breathing due to congestion. I decided to start doing push presses rather than military, because they are much better for my lower back. I put up 155 for 8 quite easily, which was a PR. Also wanted to see what seated barbell overhead presses were like, because I saw one of my friends doing them the other day and he enjoys them. They felt good, but my shoulders were clicking quite a bit while doing them. I maintained a range of motion just below 90 degrees, or around chin level, and managed to press some decent weight even after my main barbell exercise. The rest of the workout wasn’t that great, because I felt low-energy, and it shows that a deload week will be much appreciated after being sick/midterms (which i did well on by the way).
Took 3/9 to 3/14 off from lifting, it was also my spring break, so it worked out well. Cycle 3 starts Monday 3/14. Switching up assistance work as well to see what works for me the best.
Comments: This workout proved to be tough. I’ve been coughing up green shit all last week, and had some sort of stomach virus, because I couldn’t eat for two days and had diarrhea like crazy. This was on Thursday and Friday and today is Monday. I felt weaker and I’m still wheezing when I breathe and I cough still. I was out of breath and sweating more than ever today, so Push Press came out really weak, but it was expected. I took it easy the rest of the workout. It feels weird to work only shoulders and biceps and not chest and back as well. Been used to doing a full upper body / full lower body split for too long. We’ll see how it is!
I’d try to get that sickness checked out and try to rest. No point pushing it with workouts if it’ll just impede recovery. Better to take a few days to get things in order, then get back into the swing of things.

You’re absolutely right, but that’s what I did. I got sick before spring break, and was still sick during it. Took about a week off, during which I got a stomach virus. That’s gone by now, and my cold is pretty much too, but the cough is still there slightly. I’m not coughing up mucous anymore though, but I get winded easily.

Well it’s good that it cleared up. I’m sure that cough will be gone in no time.

Yeah it’s a dry cough now, and it should be gone in a day or two, that’s why I’m not worrying about it and trying to get my workouts done haha.
Comments: Fuck chest congestion, coughing, and having trouble breathing…it doesn’t stop me from hitting a 15 rep squat on my last set. I tunnel visioned like crazy by the end of the set and had to breathe really heavy for the next 2 minutes, but it was worth it. Great workout today, love beating my previous numbers on the squat week to week. It’s addictive. Wednesday is time to recover.
Looks like being sick caught up with me. Could barely do anything in the gym today, the numbers were awful, and I was coughing profusely. Time to find some chest congestion medicine and take care of this fucking thing, because I’ve never had to leave the gym this early due to not being able to complete the bare minimum.
It seems as though I’m back in the game. My mild sickness turned into a nasty case of Bronchitis and put me out of the gym for nearly two weeks. First day back I planned on taking it light, and just doing the prescribed reps, starting my third cycle over.

Comments: Felt great today, one of the best workouts I’ve had in a long time. I was focused and ready and glad to be back to moving weights. I feel physically and emotionally better after this workout, which is awesome and I cannot wait to squat tomorrow. I plan on just doing the prescribed reps all week to get back into it.
